So at what point can we say the Akali rework was a complete and utter failure?

It's been some time now and she has proven to be:

  • Completely unbalanceable around true stealth

  • Horribly weak because true stealth takes her entire power budget so her winrate is in the garbage can

  • Yet still so completely frustrating to play against that she's also a top ban

So shes a champion that isn't fun to play against, isn't good and rewarding to play as, and cannot be balanced because she has r%%%%%ed game breaking true stealth.

I feel like that's probably enough data to go ahead and revert and try again. Or at the very least, mini rework her true stealth and give her an actual strength that doesn't make everyone miserable while at the same time not allowing her to do well.

Considering that this exact same thread has been repeated almost tri-weekly since her rework and it's still being downvoted, probably never.

nothing you said was accurate though

Why are there still people saying the rework sucks like are you fucking new or something since the rework is way better in almost every way compared to the old one. She is a top ban since she is strong not weak like if a champion has a high ban rate in high elo it is because there good people in high elo do not ban champions because there frustrating they ban them because there strong.

She's amazing at laning at top if you have the mechanical skill with her, but her mid role is garbage, her split pushing and team fighting is also garbage.

Also Riot, if your trying to fix her to be a mid lane assassin like what you said in the AMA way before, than you fucking failed.

I like how virtually identical threads posted just a few weeks apart can elicit such vastly different responses on Boards.

I love the new Akali. She just has a higher skill peak to use is all. Practice Practice Practice.

just give her the old stealth she had lol, and balance from there. There is no reason for this ''true stealth'' bs.

I don’t think she should be reverted as this won’t make any change to her pick rate as the old Akali had a low pick rate due to her simple kit

Oleandervine1/15/2019, 5:19:42 PM1 votes

Her rework isn't a failure. It's just that Riot has picked the most frustrating and controversial part of her kit and adamantly refuses to believe it's a problem. For some reason they'll treat the bullshit that rolls out of CertainlyT's designs as if it's fried gold, and blame everything but the broken part of the kit as the culprit.

Once they remove that ridiculous true stealth from her kit, they can rebalance her and people will hate her far less.

Honestly, I feel as if she's in a decent spot. I would like some QOL changes, but she feels fine to play and to play against. I don't think she's broken in any way nor do I think she's too weak. Her winrate is probably gated by the fact that she actually takes quite a bit of skill now to play, and many people still assume she's some overpowered champion so they first time her thinking it's a free win. I feel as if they leave it for a while the winrate will slowly level out, and her banrate will probably go down as people realize she's not as hard to deal with as people once thought.

Just depends on your thought process really. Some people think its great and some people have been calling it a failure before they even saw the kit. Then we have everyone in between there.
