Players behind Riot employee walkout

'League of Legends' Studio Faces Employee Walkout, Promises Changes

If you didn't know yet, Riot employees have spoken up about the hypocritical, and rampant, misogyny and sexism at Riot games. A company that speaks so highly of itself, and holds it's players to such a high standard, was actually universally sexist, and was (allegedly) illegally paying it's female employees less than the comparable male employee received.

Furthermore, as all soulless, corporate bullies do, their employees were forced to sign an agreement into obligatory, private, arbitration. This is done so the soulless corporation is neither held accountable, publicly, for it's actions, or has to pay the appropriate amount in the just lawsuit that would follow.

Therefore, since Riot games has sought to silence it's employees, refuse to be held accountable for it's actions, and refused to address their systemic sexism and misogyny after, at least, 10 months of spotlight on the issue, Riot employees have planned a walkout.

This is a deplorable stance from a corporation that preaches so loud. How can you ban 12 year old for typing something sexist as a joke and then ruin adult women's lives and try to skirt the legal ramifications of it!?

However, the purpose of this post is to let Riot employees know that I, for one, am with them, and to encourage other players to stand with the Riot employees fighting for their God-given rights. I want to encourage the community to be understanding if this causes unwanted repercussions in the game, and not to flame these employees if there are delays and bugs because of the walkout.

The threat of the walkout may be enough to get Riots attention, but if it isn't, let's support these humans just trying to make a living without being abused and then forced into silence about it.

would be cool if you were telling us what actually happened and not some 3rd wave feminist dreamscape

the COO walks around farting on people and nut checking them and it trickles down and people act like idiots there, making it uncomfortable for people

I mean no disrespect here to anyone, but my thought is this;

Pandering to SJW's even a little bit is like opening Pandora's Box. You cave one time and it's over for your company/business because they will demonize you with mob justice and call you the worst things imaginable to shut you up and keep you from defending yourself or even explaining yourself.

Bear in mind, I'm talking about the #hashtag activists, the people that make EVERYTHING about gender, race, or sexual orientation, and force their way into all sorts of cultures just so they can gut them and replace the people with other SJW's to make more echo chambers, and use those positions to silence anyone who has differing views from theirs. "Straight white male right wingers" do it too, I'm not disputing that for one second.

[removed by moderation]

Worst of all, they make allegations and accusations based on hear say and feelings without respect for things like due process and rights of the accused all while ignoring the slippery slope they are on because all that mob justice they dish out on others can be used against them in turn. It's anarchy, accelerationist, and it's just plain not progressive in any sense of the word.

Riot could be innocent and being targeting so these people can gain something, Riot might be guilty full stop. That's up to the justice system to decide, and it's why it exists. SJW's think they can circumvent the systems of checks and balances that protect EVERYONE'S individual rights from actual tyranny, including people like themselves.

You can make accusations, you can call out bad behavior, you can fight for justice, but you better fucking have some evidence or damn good probably cause to do so. You better respect EVERYONE'S rights, even the accused, or you're no fucking better! SJW mob justice and #hashtag activism also hurts the actual victims because now their word is seen as just as cooky as the extremists.

TL;DR: SJW's don't allow due process and it shits it up for everyone in the long run. I completely understand wanting to make the world a better place, but they refuse to acknowledge their own bias and hypocrisy in their use of mob justice over actual justice.

Hard to stand for Riot employees when Riot employees and reps wont stand for me in the name of consistency.

Anyone who sides with the sjw narrative is a hypocrite. They claim misogyny then they support TV shows, music, movies, or spend their time in clubs that truly and blatantly commit these offenses out in the open by spending time and money on them. In many instances, women prefer men capable of misogyny in these types of environments unironically.

The entire industry including the employees need to look in the mirror. It is time for people to start being more self aware and honest with themselves. They also need to learn to disagree with people without trying to enforce their narratives on everyone else. Also, not outrage when people disagree with them. Just chill out and move on while recognizing that most places in the world are more sensible than California politics :)

Good.

Game companies are slowly starting to get more in the limelight for the shit they do. Riot's not the only one but I'll gladly support Rioters who want to risk themselves for a chance at improving their workplace.

I know this stuff is terrible as it stands, but at least they ain't as scummy as EA or Activision. Good people losing jobs because they cant make exciting games their base wants because all the higher ups and their investors want is shit that gives them the most money. This is much easier to fix than those issues for those companies. Its just the effort needs to be put in.

Learning about how scummy Riot's corporate leadership is making me want to quit playing League again. I hate opening my wallet to frat boys that lie to the public until everyone forgets about them.

It seems like the comment section is trying to take this the SJW route when that isnt the fucking issue, the issue is illegal wage discrimination based on gender lines which is completely illegal and trying to cover it up with the scummy ass arbitration agreenment that companies are beginning to phase out because it is really shitty. Forcing people into silence is awful when you do nothing to fix the issue internally.

The sad part is, so many players don't give a shit and think that this is just women whining or something? It's awful. At this point, only a miracle will change this company. At least league creators could talk about it, but no one does for some reason Glad to see the few people that care. Hopefully something is going to change

Man, someone needs to actually go work at Riot and record this kinda stuff because that'd make the case a lot easier to make.

Hey guys!

It's come a bit to my attention that the current thread is a bit... heated. While I completely get why this discussion is passionate and why things are getting heated easily, I ask you all to respect each other and to keep debates civil, or else I'll have to lock the thread. Thank you for understanding!

Anyone else feel like the anti-men crusade Rito went on in 2018 with their weird ass ideas was just projecting and trying to hide their own sexism? Lmao

I have no clue what SJW is so I googled it and it says :

Social justice warrior (SJW) is a pejorative term for an individual who promotes socially progressive views, including feminism, civil rights, and multiculturalism, as well as identity politics.'''

I eh, don't quite see the harm in this, surely being against wage discrimination and discrimination based on sex is part of both feminism and civil rights
