When top lane and some tank supports are starting to buy CinderHulk with Smite, its a problem

We had both sides of the argument of people complaining that tanks are not viable anymore and we have people complaining about what happens when the League of Tanks comes back, and I am starting to groan at having so many tanks in every game, but regardless of all of that, if we are having everyone get Cinderhulk, doesn't that show that the enchantment is a bit too much to make everyone whip out their tanks in every lane (mid and adc are usually exempt from it but sometimes we have mid tanks too).

The thing is if we have all lanes buy one item such as the cinderhulk, that shows how much people find it to be a staple item, and then that sort of kills a lot of variability in the game where everyone is getting it.

I also thought that when we got rid of the golem fist that was because of the 25% bonus HP gain, but then it got reintroduced with it's own sunfire built into it, I kind of feel like it should be either the sunfire or the 25% bonus HP, but not both.

What are you thoughts? I will slap your ass if you talk about my name loving though :P

Well, they typically have to give up an important laning summoner spell in order to do so.

And I consider it a problem if everyone has to take flash every single game (with the occasional ghost), but you don't see me complaining. People finally have options, it's strategic diversity. Not to mention that cinderhulk requires building hp items to really be useful beyond the initial hp, and adc's tend to buy item 3153 especially to counter HP stacking.

And besides, if a support takes smite they miss out on either exhaust's early game defense shredding, movement speed crippling, and damage nerfing, or their clutch escape tool flash. There's definitely counterplay to that, no denying it. Just saying.

Early game power given up for late game pretty much.

I'm not overly concerned about Cinderhulk coming into lanes but I am curious as to what Riot is going to do with jungle items coming into laners builds. While I'm not sure if they'll do anything drastic, taking smite for a jungle item doesn't bode well for the item (or enchantment as this may also be the case), and will likely be changed (and most likely for the worse).

I'm not into changing them, because there are champions, items, and every punishing the enemy early that can be used to destroy them, but chances are the item won't last too long. I'll give it a couple of patches AT THE MOST before we start seeing changes.

It's the only item that make Tanks strong

There's been like no changes to regular top lane tank, you can go a 'tank' top without cinderhulk and just be a regular piece of shyt just like before tank meta.

They are giving up a summoner spell and sacrificing an item slot, and in the Support's case a lot more than that. I don't see a problem with it.

People want Cinderhulk because its a much needed item. Perhaps they need to make a non Jungle item with the 25% Bonus Health? I don't think thats wise tho because Smite on non Junglers isnt exactly happening on every single character.

Smite shouldn't just be limited to Junglers. Thats like saying only Tops should be able to take Teleport.

This is what Riot should have done to begin with.

Sticking something as vital as stat multiplication on a Mechete item would be like making Infinity Edge or Deathcap Machete items.

And then removing the normal ones.

I find it perfectly fine. An item that gives bonus hp? Well, if i'm going to be playing a tank who needs hp why the hell not? I was taking smite top before cinderhulk came so that's nothing new, also as for supports exhaust can be very useless of a summoner spell sometimes in Solo Q I tend to take ignite more but I mean who doesn't like doing true damage every 15 seconds while adding a slow to it?

I think they just need to make a 3300 tank item that gives the +25% health with some other meaningful stats. Make it an expensive investment, but allow it to be possible without wasting the summoner's spell slot.

It is giving a level 2 advantage early.

Do a jungle camp, heal, tp top and proceed to bully the level 1

You do not need smite to start a camp.

I think most of the smite top stuff is monkey see monkey do esports wannabes. I have yet to see it work out, so thankfully it's only been on the enemy team.

Having smite and teleport really kinda screws over the laner if the jungler EVER wants to say hi.

I've never tried it myself, but a support tank taking Cinderhulk is not a bad idea. The passive doesn't activate untiil they're in combat so they don't accidentally steal minions from their carry, it gives bonus HP, and the various smites can work as pseudo exhausts on a shorter cooldown. The only problem is they aren't going to get as much gold, and they and their teammates can't benefit from the Face of the Mountain passive or shield. Unless....

Oh ho, now there's an idea!
