Impossible to win games

As a support main who's been playing a few months, this seems ridiculous to me. I just finished my ranked placements today, and got Silver 4. I then started to play some ranked games, and proceeded to do pretty good while most of the rests of my teams feed their faces off. This continued to happen for the next couple of games. I only had one game that seemed like it would be a win, but then of course our jungle decides to afk after we are winning like 15 kills to 2. I don't think I play amazingly, and I definitely know that there are things that I could work on, but my playing is definitely at the same level, or higher than my opponents. After losing like 6 games in a row, I am demoted to Silver 5. The same thing continues to happen in this division too, I have players such as an 0 and 7 Lee Sin who gets executed, falls behind in farm, does not gank once, and then feeds. What can I do to stop losing? I certainly get angry during these streaks, and do my best to not tilt, but I got a 25 game chat ban for flaming feeders. Riot says that Im the one who is toxic and ruining the ranked experience, but in my eyes, they are the ones ruining my ranked experience. I believe ranked should be a measure of the skill level of individual players, but now I am seriously considering just going in as a 5 person dynamic queue so I don't get awful players on my team. What can I do?

Welcome to elo hell....

You must first realize that you are terribad and take personal responsibility for all losses. Then you can begin to improve.

Please, these players have 0 hope. They will ignore you and continue to think they're faker and their team is holding them back. According to them someone like him got "lucky" to be where he's at.

I definitely don't think that I am the next faker, and I know that I am not amazing yet (as I mentioned in the post) and that I have a lot of things to work on. The point of the post was to say that as a support, I can't control of my top lane feeds early, or if Someone decides to go full ap xin zhao mid, even if I roam and try to help them in chat.

weeaboomer1 votes

and what makes you think those 4 players playing with you are not going to be "awful"? Unless you mean getting higher elo friends to elo boost you then that's another story.

I don't understand this mentality? If it's so impossible to win games, how do other people climb higher? Have you ever considered that?

Ricky Spanish DC1 votes

I just mean 4 players that I know who can play the game, not necessarily are higher elo than me.

weeaboomer1 votes

Okay, then these 4 players are the same skill level as you. While also being the same skill level as the people you play against. What's new here?

Honestly your logic doesnt make sense. How does this player (OP) win games when every game someone on his team has fed 5 kills in 5 minutes. What on earth could him, Support have done to stop Top lane from feeding in the first 5 minutes? I get that doesnt make a game unwinnable but face it, at the low elos the comebacks happen rarely because of the snowballing and mechanics of the game right now.

Braum Mechanics2 votes

Not really. I've played enough bronze games to know comebacks are totally possible.

Firstly you should not give up. Secondly there will always be an enemy player who gets too cocky and makes that error which you can work to your advantage. Bronze works like that ALWAYS.

IAMALLAH20141 votes

Yes but the number of players at that elo willing to buckle down and comeback is very small. So when someone who mains support then it makes it a lot harder to carry out. Im not saying its impossible, but for the average person a lot of the time comebacks arent happening at low elo. Especially with the new mechanics this season. Im not saying its impossible at all. I get it. But comebacks just arent happening like there were in previous seasons. This season is very one sided especially noticable in lower elo ranked games.

Braum Mechanics1 votes

That's different.

I agree that making comebacks as a support is harder. But it is possible. Totally completely possible!

Keep buffs and objectives warded. Peal, heal, shield for the correct person. Keep up team morale.

I'll admit it gets a bit tougher and games may frustrate when they go awry as a support. But there is no better feeling than stunning a team into a narrow passage as Sona or Leona and then watch them get blowed up by your team mates.

weeaboomer1 votes

No, your logic is bull shit. Everyone in bronze is very poor at the game. I've won 4v5s down there before and that was back when I was trash, haven't been down there since I was new at the game. What I don't understand is how you think bronze is the only place where a person could have died 5 times in the first 5 minutes.

Stop making up bs excuses because you can't leave bronze. That's the easiest place to climb out of.

IAMALLAH20142 votes

my god man relax. This is a simple conversation no need to be a fuckking dick. Yeah im not saying its not doable or games arent winnable. But a lot of bronze silver players are super super negative and dont put the effort in to win. So yes YOU carried yourself out good job. But you got lucky. There are people who give up. people who dont talk. Players who have no idea the objective and if you are support like OP, its not going to happen.

You support carry yourself out of bronze and come back and ill give you a cookie. God damn man really this is whats wrong with the community, you come here just to rip on people who couldnt do what you did? Fuck man did climbing out of bronze change your life? FUCK NO. So get off your high horse its getting fucking old

weeaboomer1 votes

Please enough bs about getting lucky because that isn't true and never has. Again, you're stating these negative experiences with players as if they were unique to fucking bronze elo.

Do you think I haven't had people in my games between plat-diamond 5 who fucking give up 30 seconds in? Who fucking afk or troll because they got salty?

Care to provide a bronze account for me then? Ill happily carry myself out of fucking bronze playing support even though i don't even main the role.

I'm not "ripping people off" it's getting fucking annoying how all of you blame your fucking team and "luck" on why you can't leave bronze. THAT is what is getting fucking OLD!>............

IAMALLAH20141 votes

you are allowed to have this opinion.

I would have liked to have thought that players are better in better elos. Which is why the system is broken. Players can get carried to a Diamond or Plat, then they solo and get wrecked. I just dont see why people who put in the effort to get above Gold, would go afk or flame. That makes no sense to me.

Youre probably right, but if you are right then there is a problem with the way people are ranked. If you're plat-diamond feeding 5 kills asap then how did you get there? That clearly shows that player is not skilled as they are ranked.

Firstly, I'm in silver, not bronze. Secondly, I agree with most of your points, but I am just saying based on only the 10 ranked games I have played so far, there is nothing I can do to stop my top lane from feeding or my mid lane feeding a yasuo, no matter how well I ward or roam.

IAMALLAH20141 votes

To be fair the skill in Silver/Bronze is not very far from each other.

I feel your pain though. Personally I was having a better time carrying with support this season than previous seasons, but its still difficult.

Its unfortunate but the real easiest way to climb out is to play a mid or top lane thats OP. Less fun but if you really want the climb, thats how it is done. If you manage to climb higher with support, I think that it would be something to be more proud of. Anyone can play zed, lee, yi, xin type champs and climb up to silver and gold. It takes someone with true skill to make it as a support champion.

So the question is, do you want to climb to climb, or do you want to climb because you earned it?

Really though I hear you, how does support have anything to do with mid/top/jung feeding early game, they dont. Its just the luck of the draw there.

do 5 mans with ppl u know is tthe best way not to have a crap team.

Braum Mechanics1 votes

Goodluck finding team members if you are going to flame them too.

I understand what you are trying to say but it doesn't work that way. Also please don't play a ranked game after just having lost a ranked game.

You will be in a negative space and will either make poor decisions or be tilted. Even the slightest plays that you don't like from your team are going to turn you into a keyboard warrior. Understand that this is a game and the people playing this are humans. They may get executed or go 0/7 on the OP champion of the month. Flaming them isn't gonna make them play better.

Best of Luck with your future games.

As a support main I find myself winning more than my other account which is more of a carry account. I don't see the problem in support if you are losing you are probably not playing support right as it is very easy to win as support right now.

Ricky Spanish DC1 votes

That doesn't really make sense. There are 2 supports in every match, one on each team, so if winning as a support is easy then they would both have an easy time winning. But generally at my Elo my games aren't hard, it's just that I can't control whether my team feeds or not.

If you know what your mistakes are, then you can work on improving. If you don't know (and probably even if you think you do know), then get a more skilled player (like Diamond) to spectate your games and tell you what you can do to improve. As to teammates that perform poorly in games... well you just have to get over it. That's the way it is and you have to either learn to manage your anger and frustration or take a break from league. One reason they might be losing though is that players do things in their games that they think won for them when they played other games. In many cases, players think that they are making good decisions and don't even realize that sometimes their decisions were only good because their opponents played poorly.

"People on my team are always terrible, people on the opposing team are always Diamond smurfs!"

Oh, okay.

Ricky Spanish DC1 votes

Didn't say that

Ricky Spanish DC1 votes

Just to clarify, I don't think I'm faker, or that I deserve to be challenger or anything, I'm just saying that in a lot of the games I play, it is pretty close to impossible for me to determine whether I win or lose. Sometimes the same thing happens to my opponents, and I'm not complaining that I'm the only unlucky one here, but as a support, I can't really control if my top lane feeds, or my jungler decides to play as kogmaw just because he is strong this patch.
