PSA: Vision Wins Games, but...

I've gotten tired of playing support, and I've mained support since I started playing this game. And you want to know why I got tired of it? Not only is it a damn thankless job full of ingrates, whiners, and mouthbreathers shrieking like dirty apes whenever I do a single thing wrong, people expect far, far too much out of you.

Tell me if this sounds familiar:

I'm playing a squishy support like bard or janna.

I am going against probably the most anti-fun, boring, skill-less bot lane duo possible, blitz and cait.

Every lane, including jg and adc, fed a lot of kills early to the midlaner, and blitz was able to roam to get assists.

The enemy groups up constantly, roams as 5v1, rotating through every lane, and killing people left and right.

It's gotten to the point where nowhere is safe. 3 out of the 4 deaths I have have come from trying to ward bushes to make sure we know when blitz is sitting there with the Goon Squad ready to clap some cheek, only to find, surprise, they were already there.

Eventually I just turtle with my team near base, pushing waves back and waiting for them to mess up in a teamfight or catch their carries with my ult or something.

The death timers are long enough now that just one person dying could actually end the game due to number disadvantage, so I'm extra cautious, and, learning from trying to ward bushes solo, I don't ward bushes in the jungle unless a majority of my team is with me. Like it's to the point where we can barely contest, if at all, at any objective unless everyone is there.

Our vlad, who did ok in lane but recently started getting tilted and feeding harder than a non-profit organization in a third-world country, starts ranting at me to ward, complaining that my vision score is bad, every single time he dies to a blitz hook while blindly running through a bush in jungle. Multiple times.

I try to explain that doing so would legitimately risk losing the game, as I could get pulled into the entire team. I say that if they want me to ward, they need to come with me so we stand a chance against them, and rotate like the enemy is doing so they cant catch us out as easily.

He then argues with me the entire time, eventually ending the game cussing me out and being extremely toxic, despite me trying my best to explain that warding solo, in this excluded case, would be a bad idea.

This is how the past couple games have gone...most of my team feeds hard early and mid, and then immediately point their grubby fingers at me for "not warding enough" and that's why they keep dying over and over, not because of a lack of caution or common sense.

Ever since I started playing this season, I hate playing support, because I know for a damn fact that this is what is going to happen every time we start losing. They're gonna blame the support, nitpick every tiny mistake I make, ignore their own plays, get more tilted, and end up cussing me out.

So a PSA. Look at your own plays before others. In that game, I know that I screwed up the timing of one of my bard ults, didn't assert myself in lane enough, and missed out on a couple of good picks due to overcaution, as well as a plethora of misclicks and minor positioning errors. None of those things would have changed the end result, but still, I know what I did wrong.

But not warding was not the wrong thing to do here, and I really wish people would actually listen instead of immediately trying to find someone to sacrifice to their inner salt demon.

Meta team composition with all S tier or higher meta champions is what wins games. Vision is hardly even relevant, unless the enemy team also has Meta team composition and mostly or all S tier+ meta champs.
