Why is Galio able to build full tank yet farm from a distance

Seriously why is this a thing? With Galio building tanky and having % reduction he can turn a lane into a lane as uninteractive as Gangplank with Exhaust. He just farms from a distance clearing a whole wave with 2 Qs while building all defensive items. Can you fix this so he actually has to walk up sometimes to CS? I wouldn't exactly call it healthy he can farm safely from a distance then as soon as his jungler is half way through the river he can just go on you knocking you up and taunting so it buys the jungler time to get to top from a place you have no vision of.

It was a choice to help with his roots in Mid lane, which lots of old Galio mains wanted to keep. I personally agree though, I find it a bit brainless.

Well maybe we could balance him to be able to farm in melee range but then we come across champions like riven and Darius and fiora who, by the very essence their existence, punish you for being melee and trying to farm in melee range. Not an issue if you can duel well, but riot seems to have this idiotic fascination with tanks being almost completely unable to duel anyone simply because they have cc. Thus every tank needs a ranged farming tool. The issue here is that they gave Galio a farming tool but he also can duel some champions. That is the problem, but so long as tanks as a class are shit I don't care if Galio is broken.

He can farm from a distance because it's part of his kit. But his q only really takes minions down quickly in the early game. If he builds full tank his q won't really take out waves as quickly but if he builds more AP and builds bruiser AP off tank he can. His q is his main source of damage whereas his other abilities are for tanking so I think it's totally fine that he can farm with his main source of damage.

Wow, almost like you can make anything sound OP. Galio is one of the only tank with decent lane phase that can actually be viable, but riven mains are mad because he doesnt have to go into melee range where there is no escape/catching that fucking bunny hopping riven

I really don't like new Galio. His kit is overloaded so he's one of those champs that it makes no difference if he's behind or ahead because 3 hard CC abilities (one of them a global) and decent AOE damage means he's relevant even if he feeds. I think that's one thing the tank rework as a whole failed on: making tanks less impactful if they get dumpstered. Laning phase is irrelevant to most tanks in league's current state.
