I just witnessed a painful but truthful game

So I'm on my smurf, currently Platinum III. I picked Riven instead of my usual Darius because I got tired of bot lane killing me with ease. Lo and behold the enemy picks Darius. I thought I was going to curb him but I was wrong, my JG came top to try and "help" and ended up dying, with the usual spam ping to me and the KYS despite my numerous pings to make him go back. I make some foolish mistakes and end up 0/2 and Darius 4/1. Despite Darius doing well my own bot lane went even and my mid Ahri got ahead. Darius took my tower and proceeded to roam the entire map helping every single member of his team. DESPITE ALL THIS DARIUS HAS DONE HE LOST BECAUSE MY BOT LANE CONSISTING OF TRISTANA AND SONA WENT EVEN AND ONCE TRISTANA GOT I.E/STATIK AND SONA ARDENTS HE COULD NOT DO ANYTHING WITH JUST ME PEELING. This was just so relatable to how I felt being a Darius main. This die hard meta of bot lane rendering anything short of a hypercarry top useless. Get it together Riot.

TL;DR bot lane has far too much influence on the game

its been known for a long time that bot lane has the greatest influence on the game because of the amount of fluff around them, its the only lane with 2 members of your team in it, 75% of the time one of those members power is directly tied to the skill of the other regardless of their own skill, they are near the second most contested objective, baron I believe is first, and their winning or losing lane usually determines the entire flow of the game an early tower causes early problems for the team that lost the tower though this isn't always true.

in short its a major issue that was seen in s 4-5 when jungle decided the match simply by who stacked their feral flare faster. and again in late s5 early s6 when mages were deciding the match by who roamed more.

So 1 player should carry over 3 being ahead?

Would it be fair for your bot and mid if the darius 1v5d the game and won? because hes 4-1?

So what you're saying is The "fed" darius couldn't beat the winning midlaner and even botlane. Damn it's almost as if 2 won lanes beats one won lane. Add to that that tristana is one of the most slippery champs in this game, sona has pretty good kiting and so does ahri.

I'm more concerned about what they picked as well, because the moment your botlane does something slightly off-meta, such as picking Jhin instead of Twitch as ADC, or refusing to rush Ardent Censer (and I mean, BEFORE sightstone or eve boots kind of hard rush) even if he's an enchanter support? Hah! Out of luck. Prepare for a free loss.

On the bright side, Ardent Censer is getting a pretty big nerf next patch.

I just want to play the game again without getting accused of trolling just because I didn't 100% metasheep mode. It's not any better for us.

It's like saying if you're playing Darius or something that isn't a pure tank toplane and rush Gargoyle Stoneplate, you're literally asking to lose. Actually, that isn't completely wrong... you get the point. Botlane is pretty much decided by statchecking by this point.

The point is that it's not just how much influence we have, but as well as how to win it. Which is determined by whoever is more meta and follows the recipe the best. The unfavored matchup can play well but lose because enemy followed the meta more closely.

Good. No champion is meant to win 1v3 when they're even.

Working as intended. It doesn't matter what changes you make, Darius as a champion will always be incapable of doing anything against things that can kite him assuming the opponent is competent

Do not use bot lane as a scapegoat for what is a DARIUS problem

To OP: can you link me your game? I wanna see your enemies items, because if a top laner gets "deleted" by a adc that isnt fed and only got stattik and IE there's something wrong. I doubt he had any defensive items, probably rushed damage like a retard.

Yea ... it's really gross. I remember a game where I was Poppy who was 6 kills, 0 deaths and got first tower. Despite this was a normals, I was really getting crap down and my team was doing well too. Buuuuut, because they had a Twitch and Rakan, eventually I couldn't do jack crap and they wiped my entire team out including myself and won the game.

It's really not fun. I'm serious, when I say this meta was incredibly unfair towards individual players who play well because it favors meta picks more than ever, especially the bot lane. I really feel for you OP and that Darius.

I had a game as thresh where 2 people afked and the one was feeding, but I had a Twitch and I built locket + ardent and no joke we 1v5d the enemy team and won.

idk how you can't kill an adc as darius? are you talking about lategame when everyone's fully built or what, buy a thornmail and see them kill themselves..
