Aatrox is unplayable! Once a legendary hero, now dead and remembered as a coward.

TL:DR I've played so many games with Aatrox only to realise that I keep losing. There aren't many mechanics and I was p3 so I think I know my way around the rift to know that It's not me that's messing up. I lose nearly every match up as Aatrox, and it hurts my soul. Please fix him riot!

I love Aatrox. Easily my favourite fighter in the game. On release, I played him nonstop, then I went back to ranked where I was an ADC/Supp main and I was glad to see him getting some play. But that quickly died out, and I've only seen him a couple times in the jungle after that. From what I remember, he's been nerfed once really hard, and riot has been slowly buffing him back, not it's barely noticeable. Not to say they aren't appreciated, it's that it's not enough.

I was thinking with the Juggernaut rework that my favourite fighter might receive some love, but I was mistaken, he wasn't even touched. It hurts my soul to see my favourite fighter be forgotten. It's so bad that I haven't seen an Aatrox for the last 2 seasons! I've been playing since season 2 and I'm a casual player but I made it p3 in ranked so I think I know my way around a bit. I can probably say that I'm mechanically skilled enough to understand that Aatrox right now, no matter your skill level or build path is simply under the average requirement for a viable champion. He can do every sub par and absolutely nothing well. Every champion excels at some aspect in the game while being moderate at other and horrendous at the rest, but Aatrox doesn't excel at anything!

His play rate is abysmal! The rotation for this week included Aatrox and I've only seen one other Aatrox, and that was in an Ascension game. On summoners rift it's a rare sight to see him. He needs some riot love, really quickly, I don't want this champion to become like the old Vladimir, where he was hell to balance and constantly getting changed. I think Riot needs to put some thought and effort into fixing his issues. Some of them being his sustain being outdone by Darius or the fact that his base stats and basically missing, he's extremely squishy! His passive is nearly only effective in 1v1 situations because in team fights, more often than not, if you pop your passive, then you're in the middle of the enemy team. At that point, as soon as you become targetable again, you get wiped out, like the passive was useless. This isn't just a problem with Aatrox, but revive passives in general, but Aatrox has one so I decided to throw it in there. Now, as for his q, it's a solid ability, is E, another solid ability. W and R on the other hand are completely different animals. I feel as though Riots decisions on Aatrox either being a drain tank (A tank that damages himself to increase his damage output) or a sustain fighter is what determined his current situation. He's not good at either, but at release he was good at both. Since then his R has received a change where the number of enemies hit will increase his blood well passive amount, though I'm not exactly sure when that happened, regardless I can't really tell if it makes a difference or not. I feel as though his kit revolves around him being an auto attack fighter caster tank with no mana costs while still being mobile and a revive passive but that's just throwing too much onto one champion (Literally Yasuo without a revive passive, but that's for another time).

It hurts me to say that Riot really had to take a pick on what they wanted Aatrox to be instead of leaving it to the players, this is the one of the rare times that leaving a champion in the hands of the player base has failed because the champion did not have the tools to get the job done after the changes. Aatrox needs some love, he has a great design, but a kit that doesn't really work in the current meta or any meta after he was released for that matter.

This was a rant, I was a little upset at my recent match history and this came out. I didn't edit this, it's just what happens when I need to spew out my thoughts on the matter. Aatrox is one of my favourite champions and I hope riot takes good care of him.

ChromeBeast, out.

Aatrox is in the same boat as Kalista and Azir. When he was strong, he was unstoppable, so the only solution was to nerf him into oblivion.

They have difficulties balancing his kit so they just nerfed him until they know what to do with him.

If Mid-Season 7 the class update is Divers then we can look forwards to changes then. Until then you gotta chill in the dumpster with the rest of us Aatrox mains. Azir and Kalista mains can also be found here

There has been games where I've completely outplayed people all laning phase, got a few kills, and STILL lose fights in both 1 v 1 and team fights from just being weaker even with a whole item ahead.

I thank you for trying to bring up the issues of my main champion but, as many of us are aware it brings to fruit nothing. They have already planned a rework for him and the only thing we can do is wait until they show us what we have in store. We can only pray that they have heard the complaints we have with his kit and address them in his upcoming update.

I understand that Aatrox is not in a good spot and picking him into a meta champion is like putting a handicap against yourself but at the same time, I must say... there must be SOMETHING you've done wrong to have death ratios of the ones I saw when poking my nose in your match history (sorry :c). I know Aatrox is weak at present but honestly, if you truly understood what you were doing playing with him I am beyond a doubt sure, those games could have looked a lot 'cleaner' for lack of a better word. It resembles my period of learning with Aatrox when I first picked him up, feeding beyond measure but picking up clues on how to play him along the way. Hopefully in time, you'll find not only a build that works for you but also a way to succeed with the type of Aatrox you play. Good luck out there Chrome.

A diver update might be the chemo to the ranged ADC top cancer.

Just might.

I've tried Aatrox months ago. I really liked him, but I also lost almost every game I played as him. I tried going DPs, I tried going tank, but still lost. He is a champion with one of the coolest concepts in the entire game, so it's quite disheartening riot just doesn't care about him.

DunkinNoobs11/15/2016, 7:59:51 PM3 votes

He's not that bad. Take it from an 180k mastery Aatrox main. He's fine. Not good. But fine.

How is he with the new Courage of the Colossus keystone?

It might breathe new life into him; his jump briefly displaces his targets doesn't it?

I believe they are giving him some buffs to his ultimate, extra range and a bunch of attack speed, so he will be kind of like Yi but with no movement speed bonus, but to make up for that he has the range of an ADC basically.

I actually think his E is a pretty meh ability, it doesn't do enough damage, have enough range, and give enough of your passive to actually justify using it over just autoing. His Q is a good move on paper, only two problems are how much hp it takes and that you can be moved in mid air, change those and its gud. His R and W i think just need some number changes and honestly i think they could also be good abilities, make the damage on W ACTUALLY good, make it scale really hard with AD to justify the hp drain and not just a level 1-6 cheese ability never to be touched once you start grouping. His R i think needs a higher range or a better indicator cause the animation is deceptive imo, (That last one could just be me being boosted af.) But other than some higher range and perhaps some boosted damage i think his R is fine. I remember when old rageblade existed and he was actually playable.... rip. item 3070

I think he's fine and they should focus on other champs instead.
