If you have a ardent support maybe not. But if a Mundo with thornmail with no damage items does more damage than you. It takes away the previous counter play thornmail had which was to build lifesteal. They took that away by giving you Grevious Wounds by attacking a tank. You cant cc them, they just run away and slow you. I am tired of this tank meta, losing my games to something i cannot do anything aganist. Bring back the old thornmail and delete this new passive?

Youve got it backwards, buddy.

Thornmail counters lifesteal, not the other way around.

Killing someone with just Thornmail before (and now) was basically impossible unless you were Rammus.

yes because bramble vest isnt an assassin, i recently learned that you dont need counterplay if you arent an assassin [slayer-jinx-catface]

Just build merc sword item 3139 , a tank "shouldnt" be able to take you to 40 % immediately (cough moakai, galio, cho), you can lifesteal if you kite the mundo which is very doable, since thorn does magic dmg most people also build item 3091 often for that match up. In lane, a champion with Tiamat will both quickly clear waves and deal damage to a champion with Bramble Vest/Thornmail without ever autoattacking them.

Bramble Vest is good top lane against AD auto-attacking champions.

Then you get to teamfights and the ADCs laugh at you and 3-shot you anyways.
