Anybody else think the real Mage issue is HP on every item?

I mean, most mage items now have strong AP numbers and give a significant amount of HP without too much of a sacrifice. It seems like there should be a trade off of losing damage for choosing items that give extra HP but right now, with item 3151 item 3165 item 3116 item 3027 you get a ton of AP and HP as well as Pen, extra damage, healing reduction, and a slow.

It especially feels bad if you are playing an all in Assassin but your full combo does 1/3 of a health bar, meanwhile you get nuked in half a spell rotation. As Scarra said in his most recent video on the patch changes, there should be a point at which a fed assassin can 1 shot you, and right now, there just aren't that many that feel good.

TLDR: Make mages chose between HP and AP because right now they can just have both.

All of these "Healthy" AP items make it worthwhile to go ahead and take Overgrowth and Demolish as your secondary in order to burst down towers after your lane opponent backs the first/second time.

And when you have ALL those items, guess how many rotations you can actually do? There's no sustain in that build. It's a build meant to smack a carry and then hope you can keep pumping out the numbers to take down the tanks.

If you build all 4 of those you will have 0% cooldown reduction outside of runes, most mages really like/want CDR so this build on most mages is a BIG tradeoff.

Your claims make no sense. If an assassin is fed they will 1 shot any mage given the opportunity.

If you go back and buy one HP item it's not gonna magically make an assassin's rotation only do 1/3 of your health. You're talking about a situation where a mage is fed and they have 4 items vs an assassin with 2 items.

IDK show some replays or something.

Ah, I love doing this to Fizz.

Taliyah | item 3102item 3020 item 3040 item 3165 item 3151 item 3116

+900 bonus HP and +60 bonus MR with a spellshield and an active shield and enough flat pen to deal true damage to squishies.

Lmfao. It depends on the Assassin.

Talon 's weakness and ONLY weakness is HP, because he doesn't scale or have a % damage mechanic (But he shreds armor)

Zed 's weakness is literally ONE ITEM (item 3157 ). He is not weak at all vs either Armor OR HP, because his ult scales off premitigation damage, and a good Zed can lay down 4k damage in one combo

Katarina 's real weakness is CC, but it's VERY hard to isolate her because her skill windows are so short that she can dodge any that isn't a point and click. HP goes to some extent to counter her, but she again has abundant damage, and armor/resist doesn't help much.

Fizz 's real weakness is Resistance, not HP. He can bleed HP pretty fast even without AP.

Ekko Shreds both Mag Resist champs AND HP champs because of different mechanics in his kit.

Akali Has plenty of damage to counter both HP and Resist builds.

Tbh, HP items are far more of a liability than a help. Once item 3036 enters the picture, it produces effects where having the HP is worse than not having it.

In my opinion mages are probably the most balanced class.
