I worry about the Teemo Rework.

Now, this isn't going to me bashing Riot, or the dev currently trying to work on the mini-kinda-rework. This is just me voicing some concerns... People are very adamantly opposed to the changes being proposed. Turning his mostly-useless-but-occasionally-fun passive in to a significantly nerfed version of another character's ability, almost one for one....is most probably what everyone's really annoyed by. It's more optics than anything. Also. A self-_slow _ on a _Swift _ Scout. That makes absolutely 0 sense. Then again, some of his abilities barely make sense for a swift scout as is. But he's our mentally handicapped, homicidal scout / ward.

But, there are 6 core issues with Teemo, which I've identified.

  1. No interactivity with abilities. Each ability is just...there. There aren't any combos or plays or real thought that goes in to weaving them together, or even really just when to use them.

  2. Little counterplay. Aside from an admittedly free trinket, and duskblade, there isn't much you can do to avoid or "outplay" a teemo. Plenty of ways to kill, yes. But not outplay.

  3. Uninteresting abilities. The playstyle is fun. The abilities...are rather basic. Again, aside from shroom placement, there's not much thought that even can go in to it. Hell, you can't even activate a quarter of your abilities. It's always on. Even if you'd like to poke under tower.

  4. No tools if someone jumps on him. Sure, if you're ahead, you can burst them, or lead them on to a trap, but otherwise, you're screwed. (Also, every champ can burst if ahead.)

  5. He doesn't feel much like a scout. More like an ambusher at the best of times. Or a knock off mage. Maybe a knock off ADC.

  6. His shrooms. It's immensely satisfying to have half dead squishies wander in to one and die. Unless you are that half dead squishy who didn't buy that free trinket. Or a banshee's veil. Or an hourglass. Or a hexdrinker. Or spectre's cowl. Or have heal. Or barrier. Or have a support. Or....

So, which of these issues does the mini-sorta-rework address? Well...I guess having the auto attack thing do more damage if an enemy is poisoned... It's...something. Doesn't really change your play style...at all. He's still point-and-click...but I guess you reduce his damage by a third if you cleanse the blind, in addition to getting rid of the blind. So... I guess that's counter play added.

...And the shrooms have less base and scaling damage. So...I guess that half dead squishy is fine. But what about that 2/3 dead squishy? What about the 4/5 dead squishy? I'm not sure the issue has really been solved. Especially since a tank can still simply face-clear all of them and take even less damage now.

So....in total, it sorta addresses maybe half of the problems, but almost in passing, and feels like change for the sake of change. Obviously, people aren't going to be happy with such a change. Also the slowing Twitch stealth. Bad idea. But, overall, Teemo could actually use a real rework / update. I mean, he's literally got movement speed as his sole mobility in the League of Dashes. And, unlike literally every other movement speed ability, doesn't have anything other than move speed.

The problem is, now with this really half-assed-feeling rework (not insult intended on the developer, just the product), it can easily be taken as though Teemo players don't want anything done to update Teemo for the current state of the game. Which....OK. We've been playing the same champion for 9 years or so, more or less, and will probably be fine if he didn't change. But a good rework would be nice.

Maybe give the poor little scout a use for that really big, and heavy telescope he's always carrying around.

Eh the changes are good for teemo and a net positive overall, i will admit the slow on camouflage is a bit weird but thats why they are asking for feedback.

I disagree with you not liking the shroom changes, so much of his budget are in those things they need to be knocked down a peg to make his kit more interesting which this rework does, i would actually remove the constant shroom vision and replace it with vision on detonate for 3-5 seconds then funnel the left over power budget into movespeed or other base stats.

Poison gameplay is now interesting, you can stack 3 different types of poison to buff enhance first is passive poison, second is Q poison, and third is R poison, additionally while R damage is going down shrooms will be up more often and can hold more of them while also being harder to clear out hp wise.

They will pull a karma and it won’t last very long

They are early changes that hit the pbe for feedback and testing, it's no where near done.

The changes are positive for teemo as a champion, but I agree that he might be less satisfying 1) in very low elo and 2) for players who can't really pilot him properly but for everyone else this is a great set of changes
