Can i still upgrade shards after the change? Saw the message about upgrading or disenchanting loot before season ends today and was wondering if the shards I do want to upgrade but cant at the moment will still be there for me to upgrade later. Have a ww skin shard, a Riven skin shard, and a gnar champ shard but not enough essence in either color. Would really suck if they disappear by tomorrow.
Yeah, you'll still be able to upgrade them.
The main reason for that message is that champion shards will disenchant for less blue essence after the patch tomorrow. Because the new system combines blue essence and IP, shards will decrease in value, from....33% of the cost to 20% I believe? Not sure. Bottom line, if you have champion shards you don't want, disenchant them today and they'll give you slightly more blue dust.
So far as I know, orange essence values aren't changing at all, but I could be wrong on that.
So if you want your shards, keep your shards :]
