Why everyone hates the tank meta

So first off its just fuckin boring. I liked the "old meta" if you will. where there weren't 4 tanks on the same team and mages and assassins were making sick plays and such. Now that the strong champions are bullet sponges and the teamfights consist of hard engages and not much after that. I mean it feels like i'm watching brick walls get into a fuckin slap fight that lasts 20 minutes. On top of that it feels like adc is just a nightmare to play. Because its like the enemy team has 4 titans that would like no more than to eat you as a fuckin snack. Assassins witch use to be a high risk/ high reward now seem to be more of a High risk/you'll assassinate nothing But then again who am i to say? This is all just my opinion and id like to hear what other people think of the "tank meta" compared to the "Old meta"

I find the current meta is superior to the assassin meta. Every champion archetype in the game can fulfill their role and contribute to their team, teamfights now require teamwork and positioning instead of each team trying to instantly burst eachother, and assassins now have to time their engages to kill the carries while avoiding the tanks.

I often heard over my years of league that a "true" tank was toxic for the game. Because it was unfun to be 2-3+ on a single enemy and not bringing him down for ~20sec+ While it might be unfun for some, I find it a nice challenge to bypass the tank to get the squishies or multiman that tank into oblivion. The effort is more rewarding than that 1-5seconds fight against adc/assassins. I've seen a couple of assassins terminate me in 0.48 seconds more or less. How is that fun to play against? To play as, yeah it probably is certainly it is simply frustrating to be deleted over and over again much more than the "immortal" tank.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying assassins are toxic or unhealthy for the game I just prefer my fight to last longer and be more interactive.

So yeah I love the new meta, even if I don't feel it as much as some do since I often find myself in games with 1 tank in both teams or at least one of them. But I've been seeing a lot more champions in both mid top and jg which is great.

How was it not a nightmare in the Assassin meta? The League of One shots before you could do a dang thing. At least with tanks, the adc can survive long enough to deal out some DPS while the rest of the team peel for them.

While I don't care too much for the current meta, it is... maybe not better, but allows more options then the previous one.

In the assassin meta it wasn't really high risk/reward, it was more whichever assassin got ahead first can dictate the game from that point onward. For most assassins one kill is enough to give you kill power on your laning opponent and if you can't kill them, then you can always roam before they can because they have to back off, letting you get fed off of the other lanes. There weren't really "team" fights because all the assassin had to do later in the game was find a carry on the other team, delete them, then pressure the objective. The other team could either try a desperate 4v5 which they will most likely lose or turtle and get picked off at their base. The only real way the other team could get back into the game was off a misplay by the other team.

In the tank meta, it allows for more interactions with champions. Teamfights last longer for one, making it so being able to protect carry champions important. Since teamfights last longer, it allows for champions besides ones with high burst allowed to be played because if they can survive throughout the teamfight, they will be able to deal out a LOT more DPS then an assassin.

Tank Meta > Assassin Meta

Yay, now I get to contribute in teamfights for 5 seconds now instead of 0.5 second (fking Zed )

Because its like the enemy team has 4 titans that would like no more than to eat you as a fuckin snack.

I rarely, if ever, see a team that has more than two bruisers/tanks. Most teams I see have two carries, two more durable champions either bruiser or tank, and a support to fill a specific niche. Granted, the support can be a tank, but support tanks have always been popular (Thresh, Leona, Blitz, etc). Only new tank support lately is Nautilus.

I don't feel like this is a tank meta. I feel like people call it a tank meta and spread it around, but none of the carry roles are being crowded out. Two carries, two bruisers/tanks, and a utility support. Is that a bad team comp?

Wouldn't adcs be happy they now have more tanks on their team and thus more people peeling for them?
