I am fine with it. I think people forget about pick order, or didn't play league when pick order was the process in ranked.

I like it because support is my secondary role and I don't get support 8/10 games like I use too.

The ability to select positions deterred people from even learning the support role, because last pick when it was pick order was most often support.

In season five most players in ranked games had to be able to play 3 roles. With the season six changes people were only required to learn two and if you were a support main or support secondary you mostly played support in any game.

The nice thing about pick order was this resolved the problem of players only wanting to play certain roles, the problem with pick order is that it DID lead to more in game fighting and champion select arguments.

All time I use to hear "if I got mid we would have won" in season 5. Throughout the game. Season six I rarely heard such comments. There was still toxicity in the game, but they weren't posing hypotheticals regarding role.

F*ck autofill honestly.

Queue'd up as top/jg. Got a solid team, then somebody dodged.

Accepted next queue, auto-filled as support. We lost that game.

My opinion? Fuck matchmaking.

Personally, there should be an AutoFill disable option for the people who are fine with waiting longer.

I don't have Issues personally, I enjoy a few odd roles to spice it up, but then again, i am not a normal person.

I'm a crab.

I've never experienced queue times longer than a few minutes, even late at night with my usual top/mid pick. So risking autofill so that I have short queue times is a load of bullocks. Maybe plat or higher it becomes a problem, certainly diamond and up it is, but why not just enable it for tiers where the queue times actually are absurd? Or give people an option to? ... Isn't that what the "Fill" button is for anyways? I can't be the only one who just does something in another window instead of staring at a timer count up.

Frankly, if I'm in ranked at 90lp and it autofilled me to support (or god forbid ADC), I'd probably dodge. I'm effectively being forced to play a role that I know I'm not proficient at, against match ups that I don't know, and now my team has to deal with a sub-par support/ADC. And no, I haven't forgotten the dreaded Pick Order, at least there you could let people know you're not good at a role and somebody would take it for you. Only had to bot lane once in a blue moon back then. Now if the game tells you you're playing support, you're playing support, everyone else got the role they wanted so whatever.

But hey, at least TT finally has a ranked queue without a full premade requirement, so I can wait it out until Riot hopefully removes autofill.

I am fine with it. I enjoy supporting occasionally, and frankly I think EVERYONE should play support at least a little bit so they can learn the one role that isn't "spam damage until they're dead".

It's necessary for role selector to work.
