-Nerf ult damage -Make it so his W is impossible to hit against half-brained enemies -Make Q a skillshot

But atleast he can get 2 AP per Q if the minions are lined up nicely xDD I dont know what to think anymore

Hey we threw you a half assed Veigar rework, but hey remember LEE SIN KALISTA AND AHRI? You should play them they're SUPER FUN seriously play them you're not allowed to play anyone we don't buff because we control everything and pick your champions for you.

The problem with Veigar was that he had an instant stun followed by massive burst, and the only way to survive was to simply have enough health (or never come near him).

To add more counterplay, they had no choice but to make the stun avoidable and reduce his burst. Which of course eliminates Veigar's identity, which is that if you let him farm he will kill you with no counterplay.

What Riot should have done is simply left him as is. He wasn't dominant, and the few times you ran into him and he did the above and killed you 5 times with no recourse... oh well, League became the biggest PC game despite this.

0.2 AP isn't insignificant, but given that it still gains .8 AP from his target (and Veigar's favorite target is the enemy mage, that imposter!) it still has massive potential. There just aren't that many abilities that still have 1:1 AP ratios these days (of which he has 2!), and the fact is that Veigar remains the highest potential burst in the game with this (mechanically) infinite stacking. I thought the double tap on his Q was a sort of an odd change, but it certainly doesn't hurt the ability. Maybe it'll make it easier for him to both farm & harass in lane? Hit a creep for the kill, tag the champion with the second hit? Either way, he still is the quintessential burst mage of Runeterra.

To be fair, the Q is actually pretty easy to double farm with. It works if the minions are next to each other too (large hitbox ).

Im getting sick of all these "Waah Veigar changes riot sucks!" posts... Have anyone of you played him on the PBE? HAVE YOU?!?! He is really strong, super fun, the double hit is super easy to do, the delay on the E is not even an issue if you have half a brain, and the delay on the E actually makes hitting the W easier if you are smart at placement.

Veigar was not ruined by these changes at all, he is better now in my opinion rather then instant stun then poof they are gone, now he requires more skill hitting the E and setting up the W. I suggest actually playing him before posting yet another Veigar post just so you can get 100 upvotes like all the other people who havent even played him yet still bitch about it.

I played Veig few times on PBE, the change cant be called buff nor nerf. He is still strong. Doesn't lose lane to second tier mid champs like Cass and Ahri. Prob gna melt to first tier like Zed tho

They buffed the amount of AP a good Veigar can have late game by making his Q a skillshot that can hit 2 minions. It means he should have more AP factored into his ult to begin with. In fact if you're good and know how to land a skillshot they buffed the amount of damage on his ult by buffing his Q stacks.

I don't think their balance teams knows what to think anymore.

Veigar's changes haven't actually changed him that much. people are way over estimating the E nerf. Overall, he's pretty much the same, and the ult nerf isn't even noticeable because of how much more AP you get with your Q. It used to be Viegar's Q bonus AP took at least 30-40 minutes just to get over 100 bonus AP if he's not getting very many kills. However, in 30-40 minutes I can get double that if not more. Veigar's Damage is overall the same if not higher because his Q farm is going up, his ratios stayed the same on Q and W, and his ult's damage also scales off of opponents AP.

IN an hour long game, I actually got up to 1459 AP as Veigar.

They reduced vei's base damage for his ult but the ratio became 1:1. if anything, he does more and is harder to play. Have you even played him yet?

Cindikle2/15/2015, 9:41:29 AM1 votes

Also don't forget that while he lost .2 ap on his ulti to compensate the Q change. His other to damage abilities also benefit from the extra AP and he gave up no scaling or base damage on them. His damage will be fine. It's a matter of will the Q changes be enough for the loss of his instant stun.
