Champ Masteries for ranked

Just a thought... Any of you ever play a ranked game where a player asks, " they pick Rengar... Who counters him?? " and their Teammates shout out different champ names for counters... and the players responds " Well i havent played this guy before but if he counter Rengar then OK." and proceeds to lock the champ in..

In game they have NOOOO!!! idea on the mechanics of the champ and the game is a TOTAL shit show.. the flaming if off the charts...

Now dont u think that it would be an interesting idea IF riot made it where if you wanted to play a champ in ranked you would 1st have to have a require minimum champ Mastery Lvl for them?? say something as low even as say lvl 3?? that way u know that they have at least played the champ more then a few bot/custom made games...

In the end it might save a few people from being banned for the unneeded Flaming that usually happens..

Well I'm level 1 on Hecarim and I played him in ranked because why not and went 17/2/15. I like your idea but you never know if you could just go insane in one game.

So this would require you to be unable to pick any champion that you don't have a mastery level three on.

  1. Autofill: People will get autofilled. Their one or two champs they can play it that role with mastery three can be banned/picked. Do you want them to be forced an off meta pick that doesn't even make sense?

  2. Picking: Especially in higher rating, people will firstpick champions for others. You are first pick and your fifth pick mid laner really want a pick or ban champion? Pick it for him, and swap after champion select. You own the champ, but you don't ever intend on playing it.
