It's not a teaser title, the post was about Warwick, and champs with kits like his (meaning kits that don't have a lot of ability burst capability with high scaling and such).
There are certain items which were designed to mitigate the threat of high AD builds/champions -- thornmail, frozen heart and randuin's omen in particular. What these three items all have in common is very high armour bonuses, a 'special' defensive ability, and in addition, they are absolutely worthless against AD ability burst champs presently because all rely on the incoming damage capitalizing on either critical strikes (in the case of randuin's omen crit damage reduction ability) or an actual basic attack (in the case of thornmail's damage return) or benefits from attack speed (in the case of frozen heart / randuin's omen attack speed slows) to make the AD champ dangerous. For run of the mill basic attacking crit focused marksmen, which was the primary way to build dangerous AD champs for many seasons, all of these defenses work fine, and the armour portion of the item is certainly countered by lethality / last whisper, but the defensive abilities still significantly contributed to survivability. As things presently stand, champs with multiple high AD scaling burst damage abilities not only bypass armour with their high lethality setups, but they also don't need to worry about triggering thornmail, don't need to worry about critical strike reduction from randuin's, and don't care about attack speed because they rely primarily on a single opening basic followed by ability burst which is cooldown dependant and oftentimes involves an attack speed animation reset for a quick followup basic.
There just aren't any viable AD-burst defense setups available at the current time. Maybe in a few patches. But that was what I was getting at. Defensive items need to be re-calibrated so they actually have an impact on the game again.
