I main support and I played against an autofill support

I play agressive as hell against a thresh when im a Sona.
Sona =/= Soraka i also play agressive against thresh as Sona, but it's a skill matchup if you get hook=gg if enemy thresh gets poked too much time=gg
I refuse to call anything regarding Sona a "Skill" matchup.
Don't get me wrong, she might take skill to pull off in higher elo, but her poke is in no way a skill you need to perfect.
hm? you need to poke right when the adc lands a basic attack on minion to avoid him attacking you you need dodge hook/blade of leona with 325 ms
that's why if you put a bronze sona in diamond it won't work
Your first argument is applicable to every support, not only Sona.
And the 325ms part is kind of a personal problem rather than skill.

He's not talking about his ping. Sona's base movement speed is 325. It was nerfed specifically to make it easier to retaliate against her when she tries to harass.
Alright, mb on that one. It still stands, like Venomar said. It's not a Sona specific skill in any shape or form.
because every support has 325 base ms?
Because actually dodging skillshots is a basic skill usefull for everybody, not just Sona. Invalid argument.
And no matter the downvotes, this is my opinion about Sona. She needs a rework.
That not a Sona specific skill in anyway shape or form
What? Ping has nothing to do with skill. lmho
Besides positioning and timing of your poke, there's also certain combos. The most powerful one being AA > Q > Power Chord AA, and can only be used when you have two stacks of your passive.
Nah. Pre-loaded Powerchord from Q into R - auto - E - W - Q - auto is the power play. Punting a pair of Q powerchords into somebody at level 6 during the ult stun duration either kills or ends up with a burned flash + heal.
That said, you don't get to use it too often because of the mana overhead required to actually use said combo in lane.
Yeah, I was just stating the best to use for poke in lane; that's a bit more of an all-in, and can't be used too often.
Meh, everyone should play aggressive against Thresh early. He's squish as fuck and you can bully him into either fucking off or giving up kills.
How does one bully a thresh with soraka+ vayne against thersh+morde?
the dude tried to harass me with soraka short range, and used his silence like a moron which let me using a free E+morde using his W to gain movement speed and i hooked him giving us a free kill since soraka can't heal vayne and vayne doesn't do a lot of damage in early game
Thresh has the highest kill pressure at level 3. What are you talking about?
By the time he gets to level 3 he should already be at 1/3 health and can't even think about going in or he dies. If he isn't, then you don't know how to play aggressive. Tank supports suck dicks right now, other than Alistar and maybe Nautilus. Especially Thresh who has pathetic armor until hes collected enough souls to have normal armor levels. Literally the only danger from Thresh comes from getting hooked under his turret like a dumb fuck, or a jungle gank(which applies to any support).
1/3 health? How does that happen? If you're at 1/3 health at level three, then you made a really bad mess up or their bot lane made a good play. Furthermore, thresh has much more danger than his hook alone; his flay passive allows his first auto to hurt, and his E is a very effective CC skill.
That passive hits like a wet noodle early. You can either choose to just take the hit and go for an extended trade which he loses hard, or simply out range him. Easy. Pretty much all the popular supports right now are Thresh counters that beat him easily. He's a shit pick in the current meta and just popular cuz "muhlcsbigplays". Plenty of room for sucess with him still, but it will all be because you either outplayed your autofilled opponent, or because your adc is better than the enemy one. Not because your champion is strong.
You still haven't explained how Thresh is at 1/3 health that early.
Good Soraka can beat Thresh- Thresh's useless if he can't land that hook. Freeze lane, and whittle the adc down with starcall spam and autos. Thresh shouldn't engage if his ADC is low.
But newb Soraka ain't gonna' beat -anybody-.

It can be done, but only with mana regen runes and minions to block.
As both a Soraka and Thresh player, I know the Thresh would have to dodge a constant barrage of Starfalls.
Best solution to being autofilled- learn to support. Everyone who's been here since before teambuilder had to learn fast. Most other autofill roles are both rare and easier to swap.
this exactly, i dont care if your not great competent is enough for a position you dont intend to play, but for some people its a long walk to competent.
lel if i would get an autofilled support in ranked as adc i would either dodge or swap roles with any1
But Riot still doesn't care, they don't care about autofill supports ruining games. I'd be fine with it if it ACTUALLY reduced queue times, but it doesn't.
But it DOES reduce queue times. Just like Riot wanted and claimed. Tripling the number of queues is just an unrelated side-effect. (>_>)
I main support and played with an autofill support.
For all the beatings my desk has taken, it's amazing I don't have a concussion yet.
.........why didn't you switch? http://imgur.com/b2qtPpO.pnghttp://imgur.com/b2qtPpO.png
Because I like playing support in about 75-80% of my games. If I took support every time we got an auto-fill, I'd play it 99% of my games. If I took it only every time we got an auto-fill the complained or trolled, I'd play support 95% of the time. I have no way of knowing ahead of time when we have an auto-fill that just flat-out sucks at support (The remaining 15%).
I understand I main a role nobody else wants. But is a little variety too much to ask?
I catch your drift mate.
BUT!!!! Your original comment is unwarranted unless you got autofilled out of support. The way its written it sounds like you queued for support but got autofilled to something else while someone else got autofilled to support.
Well i had a game a bit back where i and two other support primaries got their secondary roles, at the same time someone else got autofilled onto support. So yeah....
Since only one of you can support, it let neither of you. The system only wanted to be fair. (>_>)
Jokes aside. This strangeness does happen. It actually caused me to loose auto-fill protection for the second time (I'm up to 3 times total now) - despite swapping with the auto-filled support twice. . .
Auto-fill is great and all, but we need to recheck some of the mechanics.
Yeah, because we all know Supports make ALL the difference xD
Fed Vayne makes the difference.
When you get someone who worships Tyler1, takes MF, and feeds all day, yeah. They make a difference.
You can't simultaneously believe Supports are useless then cry when you get assigned the role.
You can't simultaneously believe Supports are useless then cry when you get assigned the role.
part of why people cry about the role is because they believe supports are useless. or at least, non-impactful beyond sightstone.

Those poor ignorant fools.
Life is hard when you define contributions by your K/D.
But it's not because it's defined by kda and cs. http://imgur.com/b2qtPpO.png

You seem to have an extra letter. There is no "a". ;p
My match history would like to have some words with you.
Some of those words involve rainbows.
I'm sure the conversation would involve ass-fucking, either if the rainbow was sarcasm or not.
You dont play support, you play AP mages in the support role... ok, and sometimes Leona...
I play aggressive carry types of champions in the supoort role.
They are still being played (effectively) in the support role.
Besides, at least I still buy sightstone and play supportive when my team is able to carry. Some games I just need to land CC and my team gets the job done, which is always a nice change of pace in my elo.
There should be an equal number of autofilled players on each team
