The Immobile Mage Update
Below are my thoughts on the champions selected for the immobile mage update that I have experience with:
Vladimir - In way of abilities, the only one I care to have kept is his Sanguine Pool ("Troll Pool"), as I feel that it's iconic to the character. The rest of his abilities can be dumpstered, as none of them are really interesting or feel good to use.
- Please do not make Vladimir a vampire. He does not drink the blood he steals (I believe this was stated in an "Interview" with Vlad during one of the JoJ publishings), it is simply metabolized.
- As a character, he's a selfish murderer, but he can co-operate when he sees it as beneficial (See: Black Rose and Sion's resurrection ritual) to himself, both in the short and long term. His abilities should reflect this.
- He should sport heavy, consistent area damage. "Tides of Blood" gives a mentally strong image that you may be able to work with when designing his kit. The tides go two ways, and Vladimir references the moon in one of his quotes, so there could be some interesting gameplay you could build off of this.
- A personal Idea for this that I wrote down awhile ago: Vladimir has, in his possession, an artifact (i called it the "Crimson Orb") that he had formed a symbiotic relationship with. The Orb is about the size of a marble, but is surrounded by the blood that Vladimir takes from his victims, so it "grows" in size as the sphere of blood surrounding it does, similar to Zac's model when he purchases bonus health. The Orb acts somewhat like Orianna's ball, in that his abilities are centered on it, however he uses the orb for his basic attacks, allowing him to "throw" it at enemies and cast things like "Tides of Blood" or "Transfusion" mid flight. As the volume of blood surrounding the orb increases, the damage it does increases as well, and attack speed increases the speed at which the orbs travels. There are other things you could probably do with this, but this is what I have written down.
Malzahar - I'm among the crowd that enjoys playing AD Malzahar, so as long as this is preserved I'll be content. In way of abilities, I'm not overly attached to any of them in particular.
- Accentuating his character as the "gatekeeper" in a way, would be fantastic. Opening the floodgates for the Void to enter our plane of exsistance should be the goal of his character.
Brand - I'm very curious to see what you guys do with Brand. Once again, I'm not overly attached to many abilities, his Pillar of Flame and Pyroclasm are both cool abilities that I think should probably stay.
- "Like Wildfire" I think Brand should be much like a wildfire, once conditions are right it only takes a spark, and soon thereafter the whole area should go up in flames and die out once all nearby fuel (read: enemies) are extinguished. Keep in mind that the area directly behind Wildfires is kind of a "safe zone", it would be interesting to have this incorporated into his kit. (Wildfires also travel uphill very quickly, it would be cool if the "wildfire" Brand starts would travel above terrain and provide vision of a sort.)
- "This is one of many" It would be neat to see Brand burn away his current body, only to appear somewhere else. This may count as mobility of a sort though, so I don't expect this to happen, just a thought.
Overall I'm looking forward to what you guys do with the Mage update
