Sona's Place on the Rift

Well , Sona has been one of the most iconic supports of the entire game since its begginings , but now she's going through a rough time because she's simply outclassed by every support , even Soraka. The problems ? Well : 1)Squishiness While i agree that a ranged support of her class shouldn't be tanky , Sona simply can't afford to make a trade without losing a big chunk of her health due to her absurdly low resistances / base heath , forcing her to take lots of resistance runes or else she will die every trade , making her poke simply underwhelming compared to other supports like Lulu or Karma 2)Mana Costs Her mana costs are so high early on that a simple combo + a heal (that early on isnt even that strong) makes her need to blow a mana potion or else risk having no mana for some important occasion (ult) 3Undefined Role So , she's meant to be a support that needs to build ap to remain effective , while having little money to do so and becoming a glass cannon that will probably die before she can do anything . She isn't that good of a support , isn't a good mage and definitely not a good tank - excelling at nothing .

**OBS **: the simple fact that while she's pretty weak on summoner's rift and extremely strong in other game modes where she can build ap freely and not worry about laning is evidence that there's something wrong with her .

Riot has obviously decided that Sona's proper place in Summoner's Rift is the trash can. Why else would they have gone through with that rework?

A thread with some suggestions to update her passive and allow her to be more easily balanced.
