  • squishy
  • her damage is reliant on hitting spears that can be dodged or blocked by minions
  • no CC
  • outside of her heal she provide no utility
  • she just gets outclassed in the support role by other champions

The mage supports that rule bot lane right now all have strong sustained damage, which syncs very well with the support item. They all have strong CC with massive damage that doesn't require itemization to get out.

Nidalee offers literally no CC at all, and very inconsistent damage. So at a certain point the game goes late and she becomes useless, while the other mage supports are nuking entire teams.

Combine with the lack of reliable damage and no cc, Nidalee is not efficent with items, supports get the least amount of gold so being efficent with what little you get is supremely important, its why people can consider mundo or garen supports, they lack CC sure but are some of the most gold efficent champs in the game

Even though Malzahar has seen play as a support, he has CC with his ult. Also, his E procs item 3116 to refreshing. The only thing Nidalee has going for her is her heal which also increases ADC attack speed, and her traps that provide vision. (I think only when stepped on). Also, her Cougar form would basically be useless except for escapes.

I'll test her out again, but last time I did it, nothing good came from it.

Early game she has CDR issues, mana issues, and lack of CC.

Nidelee Support was a thing back in Season 3. But that was before her rework. Don't know how good it is now.

No it wasn't.

It really wasn't a thing. It was a troll pick that some people thought was viable and commonly (among those foolish people) picked. She was worse than Nunu Support AFTER he was gutted in the position.

Primarily one-tricks or bad mid-laners who got stuck with support that picked her.

She actually was like any other poke support. You main damage was your Q so you just spam them on lane until you hit someone and chunk them for half of their HP, you had a heal that fave an AS boost for trades, and traps for some vision, she was ranged only until 6 so she could also harrass with her AA, making her an ok support.

After rework her damage got changed so you need to jump in with the haunter in order to do the same amount of damage and that is what made her a really weak support pick. She can still support but there are several champions that could have a similar playstyle whilr being more reliable.

No, she was worse than any other poke support.

Especially since most other poke supports had a lot of utility to go along with it.

Almost any other champion in the game would still have been a more reliable support than Nidalee. Only fools thought otherwise. Even Diamonds bitched about how asinine the mental process of imagining her as a good support was.

Well duhh. Thats what i meant.

I disagree tho with hat last part. it was no different than Lux/panth or any other killlane Support in terms of overall effectiveness at the time.

The difference is that every other kill-lane had reliable damage, low gating, or hard CC.

As did Nidelee back in S3 when her spears did 80% of your HP bar.

or hard CC.

This isn't true. Many off meta supports back then were played just for their powerful base damage as opposed to any CC.

why pick Nidalee when you can pick Zyra and have a free lane?

Here are some items you could use if you really feel like forcing her to work:

item 3001 item 3504 item 3030 item 3158 item 3165 item 3107 item 3116 item 2045 item 3040 item 3050 item 3157 item 3152 item 3047 item 3069 item 3111item 3174 item 3060 item 2301 item 2302 item 2033 item 3009 item 3020 item 3092

Note: that item 3116 is pretty much a must on her in most cases, if not all. Also, some builds are situational. I say most because item 3092 item 3030 I haven't tested without Rylia's. I'm pretty sure you need it even with those two items. You still need a gold income item no matter what.

Rylia's procs off item 3152. This item helps her harass in cougar form with her W to go back.

She still isn't the best person to support with though.

Nidalee requires a lead to do her job. She cannot get a lead from support anywhere near reliably.

She needs to have good angles for Qs to reliably do her job. Support offers very binary, predictable angles.

Nidalee is almost all damage, with next to no utility. There are other champions with more damage in the support role with more utility as well.

Nidalee excels at moving around the map/roaming. She cannot do this well from support, and even when she can, other supports do it better.

Better options for poke/skillshot supports:

Bard Brand Karma Lulu Lux Morgana Nami Velkoz Zilean Zyra
