Dps like a adc... nope... Mobility in team fights... nope.... Point and click stun... nope... Can duel soraka... probably nope Can hide in a bush... nope.

TLDR: It feels like he's not good at anything. Can someone please agree or explain what I'm missing?

Edit: So I wanted to come back and state what specific issues I think could be improved.

--1) His E shouldnt stop on damage. So many counters to this it's stupid and it's so predictable it's easy to counter. --2) His W takes way too much mana at early levels. At later levels it doesnt feel like it does enough dps unless the entire enemy team is foolish enough to all be in it. It also feels too easy to avoid for it to be a zoning tool. The hit box could be more generous IMO. --3) The hitbox on R could be slightly more generous, tbh the indicator doesn't accurately show the narrowness of the spell imo. --4) You can see his frigging orbs in bushes!!!!!!!!!!!! The usefulness of his cc is reduced so FRIGGING bad because of this. His ability to make picks is basically gone, and the missile speed of his Q/E combo isn't fast enough to compensate.

hes gonna be a niche pick for whoever likes his design really.

He just has one of those kits.

He has tons of bad match ups.

He's basically the best roaming middle laner after Quinn except he brings Hard CC in two forms & has pretty safe good wave clear when you get use to how use his passive/W plus gets to be build tanky AP.

In team fights he isn't mobile but he doesn't need to be item 3116 with his stars is very powerful.

I feel like you haven't played him enough then, I use him and he gets strong all the time, I normally don't have trouble laning against most mages, even some assassins

At this point, I am convinced that anyone who plays assassins (or anyone who can do damage and has decent gap close ability) and is proficient at using them can easily shut down even the most proficient Aurelion Sol players. The penalty of his weaknesses is far too great of a cost when weighed against the potential uses on a team. Pick someone safer and more reliable in ranked. He will likely never be anything more than a novelty champion unless he gets some kind of change.

I see threads like this all the time that argue about his weaknesses and frequently I see them heavily downvoted and honestly I don't know why. I rarely, if ever, see him played and when he is, he usually proceeds to feed an assassin. All you have to do is learn to counter Aurelion and he becomes quite useless. Don't feed him early, play an assassin that you are good at, and ask for jungle ganks. You should have no problem winning against him.
