What is the best keystone mastery for Veigar? Thunderlord's Decree, Deathfire Touch, or Stormraider's Surge? I've seen pros for all three of these but which is the best in general and under which circumstances would it be better to take one over the other?

Swiftstrike41 votesI thought Deathfire was considered to be the "best" on him. Procing thunderlord is not that easy on him. Storm seems like it would be cool, but typically after he blows somebody up I don't think he needs to "escape" every time.
Aír1 votesWell, you can proc thunderlord's pretty easy when I think about it (assuming the target gets stunned by the E). Either you Q --> W --> Ult which is your full combo and do the extra thunderlord damage, or you Q --> W --> AA to get the thunderlord proc. Since the E is a 3 sec stun and stops all movement through it that isn't a blink (blink being something like flash or the second jump back on LB's distortion or Ezreal's Arcane Shift), should be easy enough to get at least a couple Autos off safely in case you miss one of your abilities as well.
Aír1 votesI usually say Deathfire Touch but that is mostly because I want the Magic Penetration that comes before it on the tree as well. Also DFT does more damage for someone like Veigar than Thunderlords due to the sheer amount of AP he can get.

This means that the amount of AP you need per lvl for DFT to surpass Thunderlord's is:
13.4 (at lvl 1) + 66.7/additional lvl up to a max of 1145.47 AP at lvl 18
Welp, that is a lot more than I expected. I don't really have the numbers at the moment as to when in the game DFT becomes more effective (since I don't know average stacks/AP at each level). I might have to do a game myself for this.
litocow1 votesThunderlord's early game burst always best if u wanna say late game its better u farm early and get better items fast for mostly u wont maxx out ur items trying to get to late game...
what i think is season 6 ur better off trying to get lead as early as u can and then snow ball.. late game kind of sucks for ur team and bit hard when u got 3 tanks pushing mid at 15 mins lol u just get owned leaving it 4v5 if ur off trying to farm for late game

Azules5001 votesThe consensus for best keystone on veigar would be thunderlord's decree: source. With about 70% of players preferring tL over dft. Thunderlords is pretty easy to proc on veigar too with a E-Q-R-W or E-Q-R-aa combo. In general, you should go thunderlords for bursty champions like Veigar and dft on DoT champions like Malzahar.
