When are we getting Urf? This is starting to become a bad joke.

We've gotten Poro King and Ascension more times than I'd like to count, in fact I pretty much hate these game modes now because of how often we get them.

Let me give you the skinny on Urf mode. It sucks. It's badly designed, and that was mostly due in part to the fact that Urf Mode was basically an April Fools day joke that for some reason the community basically had Riot at gunpoint over, telling them to extended how long it would be out from a few days to two whole weeks.

After this happened, everyone kept playing it for those 2 weeks, and discovered something about Urf. There was NO variety. The same champs were played every game because Urf broke them the hardest. The gamemode went from being universally loved to a mess of half and half, with one side loving it and praising it to high heaven and the other side hating it for how bland it got so quickly.

Fast forward a year, and Urf comes back. This time however, certain champions have cooldowns nerfed, shields are gimped, and some champions even had base damages lowered so they wouldn't be so broken. This caused an uproar, as many who loved Urf thought it was stupid that you should try to balance such a batshit crazy game mode. Needless to say, it went through the same shit the second time, where one side said it got bland in 2 days, and the other said the other side just didn't get the point.

Fast forward a year and a half later (Urf missed April this time, and was instead Draven Day (which I could go on and on about for hours how stupidly the community behaved to cause it to get cancelled halfway fucking through)). Riot announces the RGM, and Urf will be on it twice in the year. Same shit, different story, although this time, we were given ARURF. All random Urf. HOLY SHIT. This could not possibly fail. It was exactly what the mode needed to keep fresh after just a few days. But surprise surprise, ARAM accounts to the rescue. ARURF was a complete failure because of the selfishness of the ARAM account users who just couldn't stand the idea of having to actually join in on the fun and play something they couldn't just win on.

If Riot wants to try again with Urf, they are going to have to do ARURF with all champs unlocked. This eliminates ARAM accounts from the equation entirely, as they will have the same chance as every other account to get a champ they want. If not, then Urf needs to stay dead, and may it rest in peace.

I'm pretty sure that's why they don't bring back URF often.
