Who is "the carry" and what does it actually mean
In the end, at 42 min, I was 11/8, and our vayne was 24/5. But why was everyone saying i carried the game?
Last game i played lissandra against akali mid. Top was our irelia vs. their Riven and she was feedin like hell. at lvl 4 riven was 3-0 and i was pwning akali. So i made the decision that, most probably, changed the outcome of the game. We did a lane swap. I cud trade successfully with riven and stopped her kills. Roamed mid and saved irelia twice. warded and kept yi from ganking.
This made me understand the concept of a carry a little bit deeper. A carry isn't always supposed to be the one with the best KDA. A carry is one who has the highest impact on the game. At 8 min riven was 4-0 and at 42 min she was 9/7 all because of the lane swap. I had an impact on mid, jg and top and slowed em down so that we cud have late game hyper carry vayne. Carries are the ones who turn tides. a 14/3/0 yasuo may not be a carry bcz of his lack of teamfights. He cud still brag about his KDA but he maybe more useless than any other member. but, for eg, a sivir who constantly deals damage in a teamfight is the one with the more output and has the potential to carry. When you look at carries this way, it will help you value 5v5s more instead of 1v1s. And hence you can understand how easily supports can carry the game too.
