So what is the news behind Rune pages?
The regular 2 rune pages don't fit all champion needs, but I heard runes are going away. I don't want to invest RP without knowing if there's compensation for paying.

Riot is going to be refunding a portion of the RP and IP that players have spent on runes. Also starting in preseason 8, runes and masteries are now going to be one, and they'll be accessible to players of all levels.

Runes pages are going to carry over in the new system. You can buy them now and they should be in the new system later. No compensation/refund will be made according to them as far as I know. Just so you know, they type that it will be editable during champion selection. So it's possible to have 1 rune page and play anyone you want with different setting... though I don't know how easy/long it'll take to edit one rune page.
