Some info before we start:

If you didn't see the first post, I would recommend you read that one first. You can find it here. Here is a the survey I used to come up with some of the ideas in this post. Here are the results of the said survey. If you have already taken the survey please DO NOT take it again.

#Riot's Ideas for Kindred

According to RiotRepertoir, RiotWreks (the main creator of Kindred) had a few ideas for them about 2 months ago. The post can be found here.

  • Generally making marks a bit easier to acquire, but a bit less powerful per mark. * Marks being able to spawn in either jungle, rather than only the opponents'. * Reducing mark warm-up time on enemy champions to try and get a cleaner balance between champion and jungle marks.
  • Removing W -> Q interaction and just having Q's cooldown reduced when it hits a champion or monster.
  • Increasing W radius to let Wolf feel more useful instead of it being primarily a mobility enabler.
  • Or some other effect to accomplish the same goal of making Wolf feel more useful.
  • Possibly just base 550 range instead of the increasing range with marks.
  • If the above are a too powerful, probably some base stat or damage nerfs here and there.

So I'm going to present a lot of ideas that could work with Wrekz's vision of what Kindred should have changed.

TLDR: I will make suggestions based off of Riot's ideas. Riot's Ideas:

  • Kindred marks to be easier to acquire but less powerful.
  • Make Q independent of W
  • Make Wolf more useful
  • Maybe increase range and destroy range increase with marks
  • Nerfs if rework makes them to good.

Ideas for Kindred's Passive

Notice: each idea presented here is SEPARATE from one another.

  • 1. This idea tries to make marks easier to acquire Marks now start in Kindred's Jungle. Marks now start spawning at 1:30. (when Blue and Red buff spawn) Marks spawn 30 sec after a mark is killed. Marks are displayed as perfect information to the enemy team. Marks now do less for each ability, but are gained more reliably. Kindred's range is now 550 and does not scale with marks, or Kindred's range is 500 but scales 10 range per mark. Lamb marks take 5 seconds to activate instead of 8. Lamb marks have a 60 second cooldown instead of 75.

  • 0-4 Stacks: Gromp, Krugs, Raptors, Wolves (Kindred's Jungle)

  • 5-9 Stacks: Scuttle Crab, Gromp, Raptors (Enemy Jungle)

  • 10-14 Stacks: Enemy Red, Blue buff, Wolves, Krugs (Enemy Jungle)

  • Epics always give stacks

  • 2. Wolf's marks stay as is, but allow Kindred to take them without the enemy always knowing where Kindred is headed. Marked monsters are NOT shown to the enemy team unless the enemy has sight of the camp while it is marked. Marked camps disappear on the minimap of the enemy team 15 sec after it has been taken without enemies having vision on it. Lamb marks take 5 seconds to activate instead of 8. Lamb marks have a 60 second cooldown instead of 75.

TLDR:

  1. Marks are easier to get but still able to be counter-played by the opponent. Reduced mark power
  2. Marks are harder to counter-play therefore making them easier to get. Same mark power

I think Kindred’s passive could possibly stay the same if they gave them more utility in their kit.

I think a cool ability on E would be to control wolf and dash wolf through an enemy running away (like shen taunt) that would fear the enemy for a second. I think that way kindred can still be useful in ganks if kindred falls behind and it would also add to the feeling that you’re controlling wolf. I think it adds to their theme of wolf chasing down fleeing enemies as well.

Additionally, there could be ways to add skill expression around wolfs positioning when using W or something.

This may be a terrible idea, as I’m not a kindred main, but love the champ and the idea of the champ. Unfortunately, it doesn’t often feel good to play. I would love if that changed. Glad Riot is loot into it and asking for community feedback!

tbh id love to see an execute mechanic for wolf? compliments the theme of those that accept death face lamb and get a swift arrow and those that run get mauled by wolf .. having that sort of mechanic is something if love to see

Personally, I'd say that the simplest solution to Kindred's marks imo, is allowing you to have more than one champion marked at a time. Same cooldown and lockout on marking on the same target, but allowing you to set up multiple marks instead of having to switch.

https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/tcA8KJow-another-kindred-rework-idea Bit more than a mini re-work. But it seemed to be well received when it was posted.

As far as "mini-rework" scale, the best thing they could probably do (in my opinion) is to remove their passive. I love the concept, but locking a hyper scaling champion behind a need for early dominance is just bad design. As long as it persists, Kindred is always going to create problems. Especially if Riot wants to force jungle interactions like they are with scuttle crab.

I had an idea in my head where large monsters and champions would gain marks after being alive for X amount of time, and would slowly gain more marks the longer they stayed alive, letting kindred get huge payoffs for shutdowns or taking that air drake that's been alive for 20 minutes

Riot Maple mentioned AD malz returning about 3 months ago. I wouldn't hold your breath...

I agree with both really. In terms of wolf, I think Kindred should have a permanent invincible pet for Wolf that can cast some spells, although that would be nearly impossible to balance for early game. Alternatively, both exist at the same time, and your R swaps between who you are controlling, while your E controls the other. These are because I feel like the duality of Kindred has always been part of their main theme, the strong and the wise. Two equal beings.

found some not bad idea on youtube about kindred "Maybe within the circle, lamb can execute low health enemies somehow, but if enemies leave the circle then wolf can execute? It plays into the whole 'run or stand' thing

Juris Ločs It would be cool if marked for death enemies could be killed by kindred in they'r ultimate, or ultimate wouldn't heal enemies, anyways it has to be something with ultimate cause, compared to taric's ult kindred ult is garbage"

Take a look at "Chogall" from HoTS

This is what I expected when I first saw Kindred's teaser
