Is Attack Speed Gnar OP?

Think about it. At max lvl Hyper, Gnar's third hit will deal 14% of a Champions max health. If you manage to proc hyper once every second or so with a full attack speed, plus the attack speed boost that hyper provides, you would proc hyper EXTREMELY often. Doing 14% of a target's health about every second sounds VERY OP. Anyone have any thoughts? I haven't tested it out just yet... Still getting people together to try it out. But if anyone already knows the answer, I'd would save me a lot of time.

The main problem with having too much attack speed on Gnar and relying on his W's passive to do a lot of your damage is that the more attack speed you have, the quicker you become Mega Gnar and lose that passive.

I prefer getting Black Cleaver and/or Frozen Mallet. While I don't proc Hyper quite a frequently, I have a much easier time chasing and kiting targets and they provide a decent amount of bulk.

The only attack speed I really build is 15% from Quints.

Aside from that, I pretty much build full tank. This lets me initiate as Mega-Gnar without instantly dying and surviving as Mini-Gnar long enough to proc Hyper repeatedly.

I hate to tell you but the 14% is going to be AT BEST more like 7% when you factor in magic resist and the fact that you're most likely not going to be building a void staff on gnar. Also you'll be a joke when you turn in Mega.

Makes him pretty useless late game

Thanks for your help everyone! I decided not to try it in the end, since everyone said it wouldn't work, but that just saves me a lot of trouble.

yes its super broken. you just invented a mega broken build yourself that nobody figured out before and you will probably climb to challenger with it

The problem with Itemizing for only mini Gnar is that you're putting all of your power into one basket. Mega Gnar does NOT benefit from attack speed in any way.

The power of Gnar is being able to build tanky and have it benefit both champions highly. If you build something like Bork Rageblade Wits end Gnar (basically nothing but onhit DPS items) not only will you get instabursted as mini gnar, but you'll die fairly quickly as MegaGnar. That's the main problem with itemizing for your W
