Garen vs mobility creep

I used to be a major garen player but he's fallen pretty far out of line with all the mobility creep (Steadily adding more dashes, jumps and other mobility enhancers) added into the game. I feel he could be brought up to speed with a slight fix to his q similar to what was done with Blitzcrank. Give him a larger boost that decays faster.

Tbh I don't care what's done as long as some focus is put back into him with his current state. He has no hard CC and gets too easily controlled by CC even with his W (doesn't feel like it's working properly. The damage seems to be reduced but not the durations).

He used to feel like the current sion running into a team almost unstoppable doing good damage and tanking everyone like a boss. Now it feels like he NEEDS flash to do anything and even then gets kited around easily doing barely any damage since he has no way to stick to his target.

they should remove the self slow on his rank 5 spin. thats the only thing he needs right now.

otherwise, wait for the cleaver changes. hes going to get more sticking and chasing power with the rage passive on spellcasts on the the cleaver. thats going to do a ton for him. and the 20% cdr will make his cooldowns more available. including his q, which amounts to more mobility aswell.

I agree that he is probably the only tank ...

garen is not a tank. think of him as a resourceless ad caster like riven. but with a lot of natural tankyness to compensate for less mobility. if youre building him tank, youre gonna be useless. if you build utility and damage mixed with a few defensive items, you can have an impact on games.

if you want a slow, go with randuins instead of sunfire. the active slow helps keeping people in spin range. this is worth a lot more than the little bit of damage from sunfire. not to mention, that the base stats of the item are better.

if you need an extra burst of movement speed, try ghostblade. the active is also useful for when his abilities are on cooldown. q + spin into ghostblade active to enhance your auto attacks, into q + spin is a pretty powerful chain with an i.e. in your inventory.

His kit is too reliant on ranking literally everything.

Q Silence duration and MS duration are shit until rank 4-5 W Duration is shit until rank 4-5 E CD and Damage is shit until rank 4-5

They need to reduce how level gated he is before we will ever see him in a great place again

I agree that Garen needs a stronger decaying MS boost on his Q, and I think he'd feel better if his Q and W increased in power and kept a fixed duration, rather than the opposite (which is what he has right now): with his current setup, Garen's abilities mainly feel balanced around his laning, and since their raw strength doesn't increase he struggles in a late game that is faster-paced and more intense. Giving him short but strong windows of strength would likely help him transition better, but also be more interactive, since he'd have much clearer periods where he'd be stronger, along with larger windows of vulnerability.

When you're against the League of Acrobats, there is only one way 2win.

Spin.
