You still want Sighstone.

Yellow trinket doesn't generate them as fast as you may have to use them. If someone red trinkets your yellow trinket you have no backup to gain vision back without spending 75g.

Also you'll have Sightstone a good bit before you can upgrade your trinket. In this time you will have to spend more gold for wards till you are level 9. Enough to probably make the 550 gold difference even no longer important.

Even worse when you factor in your own red trinket. Which will also generate you gold.

Top it off Sightstone gives you HP while trinket don't.

If you get a great win rate doing it, go ahead. But be aware that you're sacrificing early stats and gold efficiency for a mid game benefit and could lose lane over it. Also, you lose access to the Sweeping/Oracle's Lens.

You're the support, your job is to support, not deal dmg.

That's quite costly for someone who shouldn't be getting any killing blows on anything.

It looks more like you just want to get away with not playing as support when you get stuck as support. Making something work is one thing. But you need to realize you're not there for the damage. And if you manage to out damage the rest of your team you're either playing Zyra/Vel'Koz support and/or your team is bad.

Well, Sightstone still gives you a health increase. And not a lot of people use the yellow trinket post-9. Personally, I purchase sightstone and then grab the upgraded RED trinkets for clearing. Personal preference.

ya it gives hp but that's not very helpful if you sona or one of the none tanky ap supports now maybe if it gave mana regen as well equal to the tear or somthing

Not really. You'd need to buy less than 7 wards in the time it takes you to hit level 9 for it to even be worth it, and that is a really long time...

Supports need the sightstone for early vision control and to not have to wait for the CD to refresh to ward. Supports are supposed to have wards on demand for immediate vision control of and area and then vision denail with the upgraded red trinket.

Not to mention the extra health is sweet.
