Is there a champion that is meant to counter CC?

Just played a ranked game against a Taric, and Leona bot...

I was the support meant to protect my ever so precious Jihn. As soraka. Well it went terrible. Jihn just got locked stunned and locked for ages. While my little E did little to nothing in stoping the CC behemoths.

I even built mikael's crucible to help the poor fool too escape, silly me even informed the others to possibly build some counter CC. Only one listened with his boots.

So is there a champion, mainly support. Who counters CC, or are you suppose to fight fire with fire in a situation like this? It seems like Kayle would of been a nice support choice..

I usually pick Morgana against a lane that revolves around insta-death CC like Blitz or Thresh. I don't know much else that counters CC for your team. Black shield would work well against Taric, but I don't find it works great against Leona if she lands an E. She's easy to snare, though.

Morganq is the anti-cc champ. Failing that play Ali and out CC them. Though you should have been able to heal past their damage as Soraka. Taric+Leona don't have much dps beyond their initial burst.

ADC could have brought Cleanse as well.
