Its hard to be a support.

Dear Riot,

Many people do not like being a support, and even when they do. Its an unthankful job. If an average player wish's to be a support, they will realize it is more than just warding. Its endurance in both the game and in the mind. A support players has to deal with babysitting another stranger. Who may or may not be good on their own job. Who then can and will blame it all on the support player if a death fall upon them. Then when it comes to warding there is a chance the support will die to an unwarded bush which they where planning to ward, but end up getting Roflstomped then blamed for feeding.

Not to mention the enless name calling, feeder, usless, Worst NA, so on and so forth. Last and not least. If you both overcome all these and you have feed the Adc enough to be a big threat later on in teamfights... The support gets no recognition, no acknowledgement. Not even a "good job support." Because low Elo or rather All elo take the said support for granted.

Support is a harsh, unforgiving, even lonley role. And if you want players to play support more. You need to reward the supports more. To show them "hey, we know you do your best for the team and despite what anyone says. You are awesome."

Point in all this, the community needs to lighten up on their supports. Even if they get Autofilled or whatever. The support needs to feel wanted just like an ADC is wanted during teamfights, just how a Top laner is wanted for split pushing then Tp's in team fights, how the Mid laner is wanted to burst down their targets, and lock down kills.

How is the support wanted? To ward? To babysit? To die for their adc?

Love, your, supports riot. Love them. Dont hurt them.

Sincerely, Remnz. Support main.

I rarely ever get blamed and don't have a problem playing it but I just won't play it in ranked... well at least in solo q(could care less if I win or lose in flex) because you cannot carry with it.

Boohoo, supporting is soooo difficult because people say mean things to me. Supporting is so hard because my team won't do what i say... Supporting is so hard because people blame me for their issues, this is totally 100% exclusive to the support role.

Try picking a low winrate jungler and having people insult you the instant you click on pick intent. Not to mention the inevitable "We lost because nidalee is a retard and picked a low winrate jungler".

The support's wanted to support the team. That's why it's called the goddamn support. If you can't handle supporting the team, don't play support.

Then when it comes to warding there is a chance the support will die to an unwarded bush

Have better map awareness. If you see that 5 people are missing on the map, you'll want to check that bush with a spell first.

Not to mention the enless name calling, feeder, usless, Worst NA, so on and so forth

Have you even played this game? Being flamed is not exclusive to supporting, it's not exclusive to jungling, it's not exclusive to mid lane, hell it's not even exclusive to doing poorly in the game. Fuck i've been called a feeder while going 0/2/1 by someone going 0/5/0.

This whole post is just whiny cringe. It sounds more like you don't understand how to play support at a proficient level, rather than support being too toxic to play as. Hell it sounds like you can't handle playing a team game.

Doesn't help that because of riot's added snowballing mechanics, the support is frequently thousands of gold and several levels behind the rest of the team, regardless if they died or not. But yes you're sadly spot on.

Something that gets me is that people simply don't man up to their mistakes, and decide to use the support as a scapegoat. But that's part of the reason why I actually enjoy playing support. Cause instead of taking their harassment as a insult, I secretly laugh at them for doing worse that the one with half the XP and no gold.

Though I wouldn't say that deference is unique to the support role, as I'm sure Junglers get their share of flack. One time, (long ago) a support ziggs kept badgering me as Ez ADC, for his down falls. Starting in champ select when he was trying to convince the team that his off pick was actually good. (To his credit, he did a good job of zoning the opponent away.) Of coarse, he never built that all so necessary sight stone. Now I didn't actually chastise him for it, but as a support main, I noted the lack of vision. Yet he continued to blame me for his deaths, all because his smart ass got caught out.

One last thought though,

I've noticed at least one other role, that seems to have similar problem to the support. And that the role of a tank.

Everyone complains that it's a necessary role, yet no one really volunteers to actually fill that role. And the thing that annoys me about this is, the fact that I often hear it from the Top laner, or Jungler. The two positions most qualified to fill the role of a tank. As it becomes difficult for a mid laner to pick it up, without sacrificing the AP or Burst damage. Obviously your not going to make the bot laner be the tank, And it's hilarious to think that a support, with no gold can possibly fill the role of the primary tank. (Though a tank support is pretty good at supplementing other tanks and Bruisers)

Just one game where I ended up filling mid lane, picked Vlad, and then realized I was the tankiest member on the team. The game started out okay, but once the enemy started grouping up, we fell apart. I couldn't engage the enemy well as vlad, despite his sustain, he doesn't have the lock down to prevent the opponent from damaging him, And I get nailed 1v4. But if I waited for the enemy to engage, I can't peel cause again, no CC, and I still get nailed 1v4 cause by that time, the rest of the team is dead.

1)Goes in to face tank the abilities for your low ADC 2) You die 3) ADC turns around and dies regardless 4) (All Chat) "WTF, report this terrible support, can't even peel for me"

But what if your support stole your wife? Lucian

DemoGuide11/27/2016, 1:24:15 PM1 votes

Yes, God, Yes! Thing i hate the most is that supports are recognized for warding, not for what they actually supposed to do.

Dracocrash11/26/2016, 8:26:30 AM1 votes

it is way harder to play adc than support.

If your team has a bad support, its ok you can still try to win.

If your team has a bad adc, you are SCREWED late game.
