Only ever got 20 bonus Order tickets from 4 Order orbs, nothing from 2 Chaos. Gems for hextech crafting are too damn rare.

Here's the thing....you get a legacy shard. A lot of the legacy skins are pretty crap quality, and you need orange essence to unlock them. So for once, instead of buying a ton of special chests that "may contain" something, with this event it was almost exciting that maybe the chances to grind up something actually worthwhile was possible. Instead it reinforced what the other person said, money grab by a company clearly not hurting which I plan to support with occasional buys anyway. Point still remains, gems are too damn rare and "bonuses" from orbs are trash.

Gems are MEANT to be rare. They have like a 2% drop rate vs all other drops. This is why the Hextech Exclusive skins were meant to be a bit more special, cause if you could get the gemstones or shards of these skins easily there'd be no point in them existing and they wouldn't be rare skins.

It's just like the upcoming Honor Rework that will feature the Medieval Twitch and Grey Warwick skins, they will still be fairly rare drops in the Hextech Capsules, but at least they can still be obtained. So it's not like these skins are impossible to get like other various skins that were released once and have yet to return or may never return.

Its not a "money grab". Its gambling. Its a gachapon. Its RNG.

I pulled championship thresh, glacial olaf, and snowday Gnar. thresh and gnar are pretty solid skins. Not all legacy skins are bad, and in fact most legacy skins are seasonal or just not sold anymore.

Aside from Snowdown or Lunar seasonal skins, the vast majority of legacy skins are pretty lame or low quality. That's part of why a lot of them are locked away, Riot wants better product commonly sold.

And considering you can't get a lot of tokens without buying a pass, and that has a finite reward limit, you would have to purchase more tokens. Still a money grab, even if not as terrible as other games.

My first two orbs i got a gemstone and a few chaos tokens. Maybe it was just luck since it seems other people have been having not as good luck,,

First orb I got gave me a skin shard + 140 more tokens to get another orb. Gave me a skin + 140 more tokens to get another orb. Gave me a skin +140 tokens to get another orb. Then I got a skin + 20 tokens.

I like em myself.

Damn good luck. If bonus tokens were at least more common or freely given in orbs for more retrys I wouldn't be so down on it.

I've gotten a total of 4 gems out of my gems. Now I'm sitting on 15 of the buggers and waiting on a hextech-skin that I actually like.

I don't like anything that you don't have a guaranteed chance at something you want.

Legacy skins are hit and miss for me, so even if it's a guaranteed legacy from an orb, I might not like the skin I get. Buying the icons with tokens is a better deal than the orb for me.

But some people love gambling, and love not knowing what they'll get.
