It doesnt make sense to me, the skill gaps are enormous. My mmr is bad cuz plat 5 is a difficult transition from gold 1 for me for some reason. But does that mean jus because my mmr is low I should que into games with silver players when i NEVER did when i was gold 2+ ?
Well you are gold 1, and someone on your team maybe be duo qued with a silver (silver+gold can duo que)
I don't think Plat 5 is a huge jump from Gold or even high Silver mechanically. People do have much better decision making though.

im plat 5, and the skill gap is rather large actually...a whole tier. I find it crazy how it's allowed regardless of a players mmr.
Eh... happened to me a lot when I was silver. It just happens from time to time.
Link to the match? Are the players currently plat and silver, or are you looking at borders from last season?
Plat 5s should NEVER be paired with silver 2s. They need to change this bracket badly. Make it easier for players to fall out of plat if they don't belong there if it means they wont drop down to low gold mmr. It's ridiculous having made it to plat 5 but my mmr is now at low gold. How is this even possible. It shouldn't be. Any one who makes it into plat 5 should NEVER be able to drop down to low gold elo mmr and still be in plat tier. It wouldn't be that bad except i am getting 12 points for a win and losing 27 for a loss. SO i'm infinitely stuck in this bracket unless i decide to feed games and reset my mmr in gold. Which is almost a better solution for me then actually putting in the effort every game and attempting to carry. But that would be an awful way to reset my mmr for everyone that is placed on my team.
How i would reset my mmr is by dropping into gold and then playing in a even lower mmr where i will be able to carry multiple games in a row (which ive done 3-4 times actually) I didnt purposely drop into gold tho. For some reason i'm somehow maintaining plat 5 and hovering around 20 lp (winning 3-4 games in a row then losing 1). It's absurd that this is even a possible outcome from being promoted into a new tier.
