Dragon Change Actually Is Fun
It's been a few days since new dragon came out. Honestly, I thought I would hate it, but instead, I'm finding that I love it. It feels really fun to look forward to certain drakes, but there's one really huge problem:
The drakes feel unbalanced.
Ocean is, IMO, the strongest. Then Fire, then Air, then Earth. Earth certainly has its merits, but I'm finding myself enjoying the move speed more than the occasional true damage.
Obviously, I never expect the four to be equal. But my biggest problem is the level to which they feel unbalanced. Ocean honestly feels amazing, but the rest are barely noticeable. %Damage increase is technically good, but it doesn't feel good if you have it, just feels worse if the enemy team has it. Air, personally speaking, I think is the second best in terms of "feel", but doesn't give as much power overall as fire.
Finally, Earth exists. And it sucks. It's great for sieging, but it is only applicable in a very small part of the game. The true damage is nice to see (I like that you can feel it more than, say, Fire), but it affects such a small portion of the game.
Before, in the "dragon stacking" method, I found the less impactful-feeling drakes (first drake, second drake) would still be appreciated because it was always to get to the goal of five stacks. But now, you just have to grind it regardless of what the drake is.
Overall, I honestly think this is an improvement to the dragon system. It feels fun. But I dislike how unimpactful air and earth are. (Also, they seem to be the most common ones. Am I the only one that noticed that?)
