Why don't we have an appear offline status?

I can't believe that Riot hasn't implemented a way to turn off your friends list and appear offline. There are plenty of times when I just want to login and play alone without being bothered. Sure you can ignore people, but a lot of times you'll have real life friends that create a more delicate situation than simply saying, "I don't want to queue with you, now leave me alone."

In fact, I'm sure we could think of dozens of reasons why this would be an incredible feature to have, especially with so many pro players, streamers, etc. that need privacy at times.

I've seen this has been brought up before and there used to be a 3rd party program that did this but no longer works. Does anyone have any insight or know of any programs that currently work and would allow for this?

Click the "View Your Friends List Button". Now click the Green button next to "Online" (or yellow "In Queue" button"). It is now red and says "Away".

If your friends can't understand that you need your space, you should rethink who you call your friends.

I second this- I find it a bit strange that such a thing doesn't exist as is. The fact that some people DON'T see a need for this is strange to me~

Because they will look at your match history and know that you've been trying to avoid them.

Why would anyone even argue with this? Steam has the offline feature, I wish I remembered to sign out of friends this weekend because last night I got a message from my friend asking me if I had seriously been playing FF8 all weekend (which I had not- it apparently shows you as in game if you leave the base menu open and the game isn't running... Which I did because I left my laptop on all weekend.)

So friendly reminder that there was once such a thing as gaming in peace. I socialize outside of gaming and would rather be left alone if i decide to stay in and play a game or two on the rift.

@very toxic jinx ~ You're so dumb it hurts my head. Doubles and people like myself want complete invisibility. Leagues away option doesn't do a damn thing except explain to ppl that you're afk. when you click away, and start up a game, the away option instantly changes to in que, from red status to yellow status, letting everyone on my friends list that i'm starting one up. How the phuck does this do anything towards what I want? I don't want to be seen by anyone, but want to have access to everything just as someone who would appear online to others. Its really not that hard. Not sure why its hard to explain. lol

This offline feature is very necessary. I would love to have my own space sometime. I don't understand why LOL has not give us this feature, most of the games I've played throught had this feature so why not LOL? Guess LOL wanted to stand out.

Just tell them that you want to play a game alone. If they are adults, they won't throw a tantrum.
