Soz Malphite is actually pretty solid in the jungle this season, and I've been wondering, what with his W passive scaling with AD and E scaling with armor and slightly AP, it seems like Malphite's kit is mostly utility, so would it possibly be viable to build him tanky/AD with a tri force or something? Just an interesting thought. Share yours!
TehNACHO1 votesMalphite sites rather close to a fighter rather than being a pure tank. If you think building damage ratios can benefit your team more than being a tank without ways to redirect damage to yourself, I really don't see anything wrong with it.
GanksLikeGast0n1 votesSO. I ran these numbers a while back, and I do like AD off tank malph. Hilarious tidbit for you: If you max his W (brutal strikes) and buy a hydra you do more damage to the enemies AROUND your target than you do to your target. XD

Either way, I have played AD Malphite before, W works really well with Hydra! It is a little tricky to justify more than 1 or 2 AD items tho

Blue Collar Bear1 votesI have played him AD off tank, and I think he's quite effective either way because his main components are health and armor. I'd still recommend building a Liandry's, though, because of the amount of AoE damage he offers.

Blue Collar Bear1 votesEh. It's core on him as an AP bruiser. He has two AoE abilities, both of which are easy to hit the entire team. HP helps him as a tank and it syncs with his passive. He has three AP scaling abilities. Even if you do build him AD, he's still not an AD burst champion. He just deals damage in autos. To me, the extra burn is worth the item slot.

The burn is only significant if you apply a slow as well Which works fine for his Q, but basically nothing else
No one notices or cares about losing 6% of their current hp after they are like half health from your R -> E burst 6% of like 700 hp (half health) is like 40 damage Just get a Sunfire Cape instead and deal like 100 while being way tankier than a Liandry
and it definitely is not core on him as an AP Bruiser! You are way better off with Abyssal Scepter for Magic Pen and basically anything else for damage (like Sunfire, RoA, Zhonya, Iceborn... Rylai etc)
