Perma-banned for hardly anything

So, after two games of trolls and teams intentionally not helping me to get their own kills (a result of the new hextech crafting where people are so hell bound to get S ranks that they dont give a fuck about their teammates in bronze) so of course i get angry, a jungler who waits to kick away until after i die and another who wont assist me, and then another game with a Lee Sin support who did nothing but roam and allow our carry to get constantly killed. So of course, i get angry, this guy and his group report me and now i'm permanently banned. I'm not saying i wasnt toxic but merely that its bullshit. I've been playing the game for 3+ years and have been struggling my ass off to get out of bronze and away from the toxicity, ive spent HUNDREDS upon HUNDREDS of dollars on this game and now my account is permanently gone with all my skins, my matches and everything. I hope that I might have a rioter see this and give me a chance to get unbanned.

I'm not saying i havent been toxic, but my toxicity is a result of being around such toxicity and dealing with fucking morons who play this game intentionally with the hopes of ruining someone else's or diminishing their time. Being continually thrown in bronze despite good promos multiple seasons all due to hidden mmr doesn't help at all. If nothing else i want either my skins or my money back on a different account because this is total horseshit.

My two cents about this matter:

http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/GQ2r26n0-psa-before-making-an-i-was-banned-for-toxic-behavior-thread

Basically, before you should even consider looking for an unban, you should try behaving in a manner that shows you're on the right track. Judging by your response to Nami, you've at least calmed down a bit since your initial post, which is good.

No, the point is that people continuing to not learn from their bans is why we now have permanent bans in the first place. If people start learning from them and showing that they can and have, then it would give Riot reason to consider other options.

It's not a guaranteed thing, not by a long shot, but I think it beats the alternative of banned players just continuing to justify the system's existence.

So then, in your opinion what is my best course of action?

Well, if you want to handle it in a mature way, you have two options.

1: Cut your losses and bow out of the game respectfully.

2: Begin a new account and show that you can reform. If you go this route, try to also convince other players who are being 'toxic' to change their ways lest they end up in the same boat you were.

One person convinces someone to reform, then they in turn can convince others. Like a wave, a big movement first needs smaller movement.

But more than likely my prized skins and icons are kaput for now? Damn.

Don't let it defeat you. I've sunk probably about as much into the game as you have. That's precisely why I'm looking for an intelligent and non-hypocritical way to combat it.

Unfortunately, it's practically unheard of for a behavior-related ban to be overturned. Riot has only ever reverted such a ban if there was a mistake on their end, which you admit there wasn't, so there is almost no chance of you recovering your account.

I'm not saying i havent been toxic, but my toxicity is a result of being around such toxicity

If that were actually true, most of the population would get perma-banned. In reality it's 0.2%. There's nothing forcing you to throw tantrums/insult people/argue in chat, you just choose to.

If you choose to make a new account, you need to work hard to not be toxic in chat. Even when you really want to say something to someone, just don't.

Athina1 votes

Do you happen to have the source for that? I remember reading it, but can't seem to find it again.

disregardable1 votes

It says it on every in-client reform card where someone gets a 2 week ban, at the top. I don't have a screenshot, though.

Athina1 votes

I guess that sounds familiar. Thanks.

If I don't get my account back i'm done fuck this game, after playing over a thousand games and playing for 3 years and having multiple legendary/and or otherwise no longer available skins its not even worth it anymore.

Riot doesn't unban people. They're called permanent bans for a reason, sorry. Hope you change your mind or have more fun on a different game.

would YOU wanna play after losing hundreds of dollars in skins and rare/unavailable skins as well as owning every champion in the game?

Was this not a strong enough motivating factor to prevent you from being consistently toxic enough to reach a permaban? It's too late if you don't consider it until after you get permabanned.

If you'd mind sharing your chat logs I'd be happy to go over them with you. You can start again and keep your account if you are willing to change. You don't necessarily have to not get upset with your situation or the actions of others, you just have to not take it out on the other players, even if that means removing your own ability to see or type in chat.

its just not even fun the way the ban system is in place. Even in games where im just trash talking and being competitive without being toxic you can get banned these days. The game is being overwhelmingly full of children who report at the slightest butthurt. I love love love the game but theres no point in continuing to play without my account or any of my skins or champions

iamdalt1 votes

@Deep Terror Nami if i COULD get my account back and re-do i'd mute every person as soon as the game started if thats what it took, but more than likely there is no hope in doing so

forgetting a temp ban is one thing, forgetting that you entirely lost your account worth near a $1000 is not possible.

You can say that, certainly, but actions speak louder than words. If you threw away your first four chances, why should anyone trust you with a fifth?

I can see where you're coming from there alas if you were a rioter you'd know that in the time since my other 3 infractions my toxicity has gone considerably down. It just sucks because I'm sure if you've been in Bronze before there are just those games with 'those' people who are just out to piss you off and ruin your time. Sometimes even muting them isnt enough because they know and just continue to grief you with their actions

Even in games where im just trash talking

What you see as just trash talking may be seen as annoying or plain harassment by others. If they do not engage in trash talk with you and aren't making it clear that it's all in good fun, then you are probably being a nuisance. Players cannot see your expressions or hear inflections in your voice to determine if you are just joking, and you have to consider that before "trash talking", because it probably end up just being an insult.

overwhelmingly full of children who report at the slightest butthurt

Please do not do anything to the butts of children

I love love love the game but theres no point in continuing to play

That's good that you enjoy the game, but you shouldn't be doing so at the expense of others. If this game is full of thin-skinned children then you need to behave appropriately, because you joined this community, you didn't make it. Read through The Summoner's Code and take it to heart; you are perfectly capable of being respectful of your fellow summoner's and not engaging in toxicity with other toxic players, and everyone is better off that way.

-sigh- I see what you're saying but its kind of absurd that adults can get punished and/or reprimanded because we don't speak appropriately to children. It sucks that we live in a society where offending someone over first amendment speech is such a heinous crime.

edit: and it also sucks that instead of dealing with things yourself like we were taught and to have tough skin when we were children this new day and age gives kids the option to just report away the mean people to get them banned and live on in their care-free world. Its this coddling of children that leads to the development of trolls who find it humorous to ruin other people's games

Man...honestly its time to stop playing ranked...the ranked elo system simply lends to toxicity as it is about individual stats rather than actual performance with your team. True team players (which most support mains are) give up stats to help the team win. In ranked even you are an enemy to your own team at the end of the game BECAUSE of how the elo system works.

I'd rather see a system that actually promotes team work rather than the BS ranked is. I'd rather see the ranking system broken down into different leagues (pun intended) where, say, a blue only has blues for teammates and never gets matched up with a red. Then there is really no incentive for players to develop these bad habits which are justifyibly frustrating (apart from the trolls of course), in trying to carry every game when every other player is trying to do the same. Your wins and losses would reflect your skill within the team this way rather than your selfishness.

Too many players throw games because the game lends to simply being over aggressive in order to be the one to move up in elo and tier...which again, is a broken system for a team game yet riot still hasn't found another option which, to me, is unacceptable...thus I don't play ranked.

Riot is too busy punishing the people who are trying to play the game as opposed to banning the people who are out to ruin it for everyone just because they think its hilarious as fuck

iamdalt1 votes

Yolo, Riot can lose a huge source of income from me and all the other players who are just trying to deal with the insufferable trolls they seem to be completely incapable of getting rid of. The community here has been toxic for ages, i'll go play HoTS, since Blizzard actually cares about its customers and players and doesnt care about little children reporting people over trash talk in a competitive game

  1. If Riot wanted more money from you, they should have not banned you in the first place, so your first sentence is pointless.

  2. Yea Riot doesn't give a shit about wth you're playing. Just go ahead.

What it results from is of no significance and it's something you have to deal with. Just because you can't doesn't mean you can now go ahead and break the rules in however way you deem fair. You should've stayed away from this game the moment you realized you could no longer hold yourself back, and since you didn't now riot has to help you do it.

On a personal basis I do agree that it's frustrating to suffer from trolls and it feels absurd that you can't do anything about it, but I also acknowledge that retaliation isn't how this world works. Just because my co-worker is being a (insert insult here) and throwing all the work&responsibilities on me doesn't mean I should return the favor in kind; that's not going to get any work done and our boss/customers are going to get pissed, and saying "he started it" isn't going to exempt me from being fired.
