Veigar Rework Concept

Introduction:

I am your regular guy. I frequently browse LoL forums and love playing League of Legends. Lately, I have been playing Veigar non-stop for a while, and I started fall in love with his playstyle. Power farming and then "deleting" champions with the power I accumulate over time. My current ranking is Platinum V, so I have some knowledge of the game. Although my sense of balance may not be good, I want to share some ideas I have.

Design Philosophy:

In my eyes Veigar should be a menacing wizard that is often overlooked as a small yordle but in reality, he has the power to control cosmic energy that is something to be reckoned with.

That said, I want Veigar's true power to look powerful. In teamfights, he'll excel at disrupting enemies and nuking the battlefield with his puffs of cosmic energy.

The current Veigar is primarily a single target mage, and that's fine. I want to give Veigar the choice of being either a single target assassin OR an AOE mage. The flexibility that the changes will give him can hopefully make him more viable. Think of it as continuing the path of what Riot was taking with the Veigar nerfs(?) a while back.

The Changes: (See Explanation for more)

Passive: Equilibrium

Veigar's mana regeneration is increased drastically when he has under 50% of his maximum mana and decreased slightly when he has over 50% of his maximum mana.

Q: Baleful Strike

PASSIVE: Veigar gains permanent bonus ability power when he kills a champion from any source of damage. This stacks with the active ability's AP gain.

ACTIVE: Unleashes a missile of dark energy in a line, dealing magic damage to up to two enemy units. Every time this ability kills a unit, Veigar gains 1 ability power permanently (doubled against large minions, large monsters, and champions).

Event Horizon effect: If Baleful Strike enters Event Horizon's dimension, it will explode, dealing AOE magic damage to other units around it.

W: Dark Matter

ACTIVE: Veigar calls a great mass of dark matter to fall from the sky to the target location, which lands after a delay, dealing AOE magic damage to units. Dark Matter deals the most damage in the center and less on the edges.

Event Horizon effect: If Dark Matter is within the Event Horizon's dimension, it will stun targets hit by Dark Matter.

E: Event Horizon

ACTIVE: After a delay, Veigar twists the edges of space and creates a dimension in an area that lasts 3 seconds. Enemies on the edge or in the dimension are snared for a duration and dragged towards the center. Veigar's other abilites have special effects when casted in the dimension.

R: Primordial Burst

ACTIVE: Veigar targets an enemy champion, sending a blast of cosmic matter at them, dealing a great amount of magic damage plus a percentage of the target's ability power.

Event Horizon effect: Casting Primordial Burst on a champion within Event Horizon's dimension will cause it to detonate, dealing a percentage of the damage to surrounding champions.

Explanation:

Passive: Although the previous passive was fine, I wanted to make it more unique. This makes his laning phase stronger, but in exchange requires him to purchase more mana otherwise he will not have enough for a long teamfight.

E: The concept behind the E change is that the power is cosmic. It's from out of this world, so if Veigar can create a dimension native to his powers, they would amplify in the respective dimension. It essentially creates another identity of Veigar, one being a 100-0 nuker and one being a 500-0 nuker depending on where the battlefield is.

W: Veigar's W is REALLY hard to land. And realistically, anyone with enough reaction time would never get hit by it. I wanted to make his W more reliable by making his E gravitate enemies towards the center, ensuring a maximum damage output from his W. I often found myself stunning someone and walking to get in range for a W, and it feels clunky and less rewarding for landing an E.

Q and R: The Event Horizon effect changes are there to help synergize his new kit. One thing to note, this change doesn't make his 1 on 1 stronger.

T L ; D R: Increase Veigar's teamfight potential by making his kit more flexible through landing his Event Horizon.

Thanks for reading my proposal and concept for Veigar!

Incredible.

I love it, just needs a few tweaks so it he isn't as strong. Love the new synergy between E and W especially.

cool cool, but one problem.

If you land your E, even at rank 1, it is a 3 second snare.

Fudge the numbers a bit, and you are there.
