Syndra or cassio
I'm looking to buy a new champ for around 4800 be. I'm a mid lane main but a flex pick top might also be useful (but not compulsory). Looking for a fun mid lane carry. Was thinking Cass or syndra. Any thoughts?

Neither.
If u are looking for a carry mid, u must pick an AD champ.
AD assassins (they don't fall off as people say, just don't build full lethality) :

ADCs (perfectly viable mid, don't let others tell u otherwise. recent proof is trist top-mid strat) :

Fighters (mages cant 1 shot them, while they still can 1 shot mages) :

Few AP champs are still viable but will for sure get nerfed if they get popular (unlike AD popular champs like zed, yasou, riven, jinx and vayne who are infamous for avoiding nerfs)
Also, u must consider a possible mpen nerfs as a lot of clueless complaints regarding it has been popping all around the boards.
Good AP champs :
(fan's fav)
(not a mage, will likely be nerfed)
(not a mage, a true good ap carry, can avoid nerfs)
(not a mage, cant carry easily but will shut down the right click bot)
(if the enemy picked ad champ mid like zed or Lucian u might consider go afk rather then feed them cuz from early to mid they will make a play thing out of, he is good against ap mids)
(poster child)
(not a mage)
(not a mage)
(not a mage)
(will be nerfed if popular)
(good into melee "in ur face" champs, bad against ranged and short trades champs)
(not a mage, can carry but not easily)

I'm not sure if other people would agree with this. Tbh kayn kindred and Warwick mid sound kinda like troll picks and I think there are plenty of ap champs who can carry. Does anyone else think the same way?
kayn mid can be very hard I admit but it depends on the enemy pick. if they pick something short ranged then he can be considered as a short ranged zed with his outplay ult.
Kindred is good mid. instant dash to avoid spells + damage on it, aoe zone, targeted slow and an ult that is deadly to mages cuz they rely on CDs.
If ur jungler allows it u can collect marks easily too.
Warwick cannot be driven out of lane by mages (not ad champs or stuff like azir). watch them spend all their mana on u for u to just shrug off their damage with Q + passive heal. just get
I don't think a lot of AP champs can carry aside from those I mentioned.
Pure mages are shit now and they are being turned into a secondary supports with many of them being officially listed as supports like Lux Vel Zyra and Xer.
Ashe brings far more utility than mages turned supps, why u don't see her listed as one ? cuz she CAN CARRY.
ADCs (perfectly viable mid, don't let others tell u otherwise. recent proof is trist top-mid strat) :
Caitlyn is not a viable mid laner. - Tried it, It's garbage. Kindred is only viable in the jungle. Sivir is not a viable mid laner. - Tried it, It's garbage. Vayne is not a viable mid laner. - Tried it, It's garbage.
Then again you're on EUNE, You could play Yuumi mid on EUNE and do well.

Kennen is a Mage. Rumble is a Mage. Vladimir is a Mage.
Ekko is an Assassin.
Diana is an AP Fighter. Sylas is an AP Fighter. Mordekaiser is an AP Fighter.
is really strong rn, especially with all the assassin's running around.
are also viable AP mids.
Cassio works similar to an ADC. Except, that she uses spell instead of basic attack.
Syndra is more like a oneshot combo. If ult ready, and it has low CD so often ready, then if your stun hits just headbutt your keyboard with mouse on enemy, and if it's not a tank or protected by support/emergency stuff, then instakill. Syndra is harder to farm with though.
Syndra is more about tactical positioning of your Qs (balls) so you can use E to stun the enemy team and burst one down with your R. Cassiopea is more of a close range spam mage like Ryze. You need to be closer but when ahead you will deal insane amount of dmg + having one of the best abilites with W making anyone standing in unable to flash/dash.
Cassio is one of the hardest champs in the game! Be carefull about that + she cannot buy boots, she gets movement speed by lvling up.
Cassio is much better than Syndra right now.
Although I will tell you this, Cassio's mana hungry as hell before tear.
You literally can run out of mana after like 4-5 spells.
Syndra beats Cass. Don't forget that one cool feature of Syndra is that she can cast most of her abilities while moving. So while cass chases you, you can eaily put down a Q in her path without stopping.
He is looking for an AP that is fun (subjective) and can carry games and suggested either cass or syndra.
Neither of them can carry games. stop telling him syndra > cass or vice versa.
I'll do what i want, thank you very much.
Where do you get the idea that ap champs can't carry? I know plenty of people who say ap champs are op in general

They are.
They have some of the best itemization in the game and Magic Resist is much harder to stack than Armor.
I want to say Syndra because she is one of if not my favorite champion. But I can’t honestly recommend her to people in her current state. She’s so bad that even when mastered she is hardly even mediocre.
Tldr. Cassiopeia.
cassio all day
