What I should do currently and for next Season

  • The Current Situation Hello Ladies and mostly Gents I was recently in Diamond 5 (not that it makes any difference), currently I have been demoted to Platinum 1 and now I'm pretty much lost in what role to play. The roles I have played this Season are Top/Jungle/Mid/ADC/Support, pretty much all the roles, obviously when you win you start playing the same role until you lose basically, well I was on that road. What I'm trying to say is I'm lost in what to play and what I should main, let me also clarify that I am a Support Main.

  • Details I played a load of Support games earlier in the Season ranking to Platinum 2 promos into Platinum 1 until I went into a **Ladder Anxiety ** then dropped all the back down into Platinum 5, then I was so scared that I wouldn't be able to climb again cause I was so sure I was playing with Boosters, people that don't know how to end games, and those that just straight up feed. Now at this point you're probably thinking "This guy is being toxic or unsportsmanlike, he shouldn't be blaming his teammates he should be blaming himself and thinking about the errors he's done."

Well then, let me say this, if you agree with this philosophy I don't blame you but the fact that players got to and/or boosted to this rank but can't play up to there ways that got them up to the rank there in, in the first place is just atrocious. Anyway, now that is out of the way, as I said in the above paragraph I've played every role either for Solo or Team reasons, I played Top pretty well earlier in the Season when Tanks were prevalent which I excelled at, Jungle is my questionable role meaning I'm not good at it, my Mid is decent enough to hold on my own, I've 1 tricked Mid with Viktor, Lissandra, and Zilean (of course I've played others too but these are the ones I've played the most with), my ADC is also decent but not great with, however with enough practice I should be better with it, and of course my Support is the greatest out of the 5 roles mentioned.

  • What should I do? So basically what I'm saying is that "I'm lost, and I don't know what to play," whether it is the remainder of this season or the next Season, as it is I am a very diverse player and willing to adapt to others roles, so now the question(s) I ask you league players is "What would you do or What should I do?"

EDIT: I'm looking to be a player in the top echelon

EDIT: (Should've been added into Details but) I 1 tricked on Jhin when I was climbing back from my Ladder Anxiety.

Had a quick look, it seems like you do enjoy the support role and have quite a bit of success at it. If you are playing with the intention of ranking up I would recommend the following:

Keep playing support. Stick to that role (particularly since your individual skill metrics on other roles is a bit lower than average diamond quality, which might make it harder to have consistent success until you put in more work on those skills) and stick to your two big guns, Ali and Braum. Your janna play needs some work, you've got solid KDA and the individual skill metrics support that your individual tactical decision making is quite good, but they also support the fact that your strategic understanding as janna and in fight mechanics are not up to snuff on Janna, which is further supported by the poor win rate. If you are forced onto a secondary role stick with mid and play just the Lissandra and Viktor, both of which you are capable of playing at an average diamond level but not much better. You won't be able to carry too much moving forward on these champs so focus on just being useful and staying alive to facilitate one of your teammates carrying the game. This doesn't mean be a panzy and refuse to make smart dives with liss mind you, but try not to take any kind of unnecessary risks. I'd also find yourself a good duo, for supports the most effective duo roles are jungle (this is actually true of every other role as well, junglers are the best players to duo with) and adc. The communication element and chemistry in bot lane can't be dismissed and the ability to completely control the whole map, pace of the game, objectives, and shot calling with the two supportive roles can't be dismissed when you add a jg either. Focus on MMR and manipulating your MMR if you are trying to climb as efficiently as possible, LP means nothing below D1 any ways. Win streaks. No loss streaks. Use your dodges intelligently to avoid bad lobby situations (bad comps, red flags on players you op.gg, trolled lobbies, etc) and don't put yourself in positions where you have a low chance of success. The game starts IN the lobby. Not on the map. You have to be playing RIGHT in the lobby. Its a strategy game, it starts then, be applying your strategy from moment one, communicate effectively, be a leader, an organizer.

You've got the talent, you've proven that. Have confidence, but not arrogance. Know your limits and be honest with yourself. The only thing that holds you back in ranked now is you. Your choices, to play to your own strengths, and your best abilities, consistently, from here forward.

Personally, I have found ranked games to be frustrating recently after a few games with players intentionally feeding, wanting to quit 5 minutes into the game and just general idiocy.

At the moment, I'm planning to just avoid ranked (with the exception of a game each month to avoid decay) and just practice playing different roles and champions.

Sometimes, just taking a break and playing normal games for practice is a good idea; it is less stressful and lets you relax since there isn't really anything on the line.

If you have already reached your goal for this season, I would recommend you take some time to experiment with different champions in your off-roles to see who you enjoy playing and click with.
