top lane sucks to play

I hate top lane but i like playing toplaners and tanks and heres why top lane at this point feels like it boils down to two roles, tanks and melee champs vs champs that shit on all tanks and melee champs lets take my favorite toplaners for example:Ornn Darius Sion Garen TahmKench Shen now lets take the champs i see the most in toplane:Kayle Gnar Illaoi Aatrox Kennen Malphite Renekton Tryndamere Teemo Urgot Vladimir Ryze Jayce Fiora Quinn atleast if i go mid or adc or jungle i can still have fun, with the help of a support i can have a decent time bot and when im mid i can roam and help my team but it feels like every single time i go top and i see some sort of mage or any champ that has any form of harrass then its over for me, im gonna have to sit under my tower and babysit my fuckin lane all round and do nothing, top lane is the most unfun, frustrating and boring lane to play and i just wish that having a slight range advantage didnt mean a instant lane lost god forbid you actually punish champs but it doesnt matter because half the time they have item 2033 so it doesnt even matter, theyll just out poke out sustain you all day im not saying we should go back to the tank meta im just saying its bullshit that im forced to sit in one spot all round trying to farm while Kayle Teemo Jayce Urgot hit me with 20 autos when i just try to get one minion i just think that ranged top laners and harassers are way to strong and practically get free lanes

Try something different. Ive been OTPing Nocturne Top on a seperate account- FearBunnie, if you want to look. (Ignore that loss streak, my Noc top stats are still good. Lol)

He has a pretty good time vs most top laners.

Weak matchups being vs Nasus(Worse case scenario)>Mordekaiser>Urgot>Sometimes Fiora if she somehow pulls ahead of you. Just be sure to spell shield when she blocks your fear, and don't let her chase you down with her ult. Keep consistant poke pressure on her to deter her from attempting to all in you with her ult.

Strong matchups being vs Renekton, Tryndamere, Vlad, Quinn, Gnar, Garen, Darius, etc etc etc, this list is pretty long.

And then theres a handful of stalemate matchups as well.

Lethal tempo Overheal Blood line Biscuits+Timewarp tonic.

Start Corruption potion. If youre vs a bruiser or a slippery target(that doesnt have ignite) rush a BotrK. If youre vs a champion that doesnt rush a significant defensive item, just build straigt into 3x Lethality items.

Remember: There is no champ restriction in lanes. Top doesn't have to be the melee or tank.

The point of champ select is to make a good comp that synergies with the team. Sure...A tank is needed...but ever saw a Yas and Malphite combo? Malphite can be a tank or AP...if with a Yas...he becomes the enemies iggest threat and will be afraid to be close together pas laning phase... Or what about a Dive Champ like Vi with a Lulu ulting them and casting shield on them just before they go in.

You need to find what champs work with your team.

Sure you might lose your tower...but if the rest of your team is doing fair or better you can still can still help win the game. It may sacrifice your KDA and won't get an S...(which sadly most people only care about hence why I brought it up), but you can still help in winning the game if you plan properly.

TL;DR: Use a champion that works with your team, doesn't HAVE to be a melee/tank.

Quinn main here.

Several of the champs you have stated as liking to play ( Sion TahmKench Shen to be specific) are still very strong against ranged champs.

For Sion , you can go corruption pot too. Atleast vs a hard ranged champ, you can easily out sustain if you run them down after you hit your E. You may lose the very early game, but once you hit 6 your HP and ult are just too much for a ranged champ to deal with.

For TahmKench , if you hit a Q vs a ranged champ you can pop summoner 6 and just run them down. Let them push you in, then look for all ins. This is how you beat a ranged champ in every game- let them push you in and wait for them to mess up.

Morde can drag the squishy champs in and chew on them pretty hard.
