More nerfs, Less buffs

Instead of bringing underpowered champions up to everyone else, how about we bring the op champs down to everyone else? If the strongest champions are repeatedly being brought down instead of the weakest being buffed, eventually I think we can escape this high damage "burst first" trend the game has been on for years.

Excactly! So many problems would have never exsisted if they hadn't switched from this to "Buff for Skins!!" tactic

Realistically, they just need to follow their own damn guidelines better. They game out 4 pretty clear criteria for buffs/nerfs and yet continue to deviate from them (causing issues every time they do)

Yeah, the real problem is that everything deals as much damage as e.g a dedicated nuker, burst or artillery. Today I played Ziggs . Pretty fun champion, a dedicated damage dealer / nuker, but I must say that his overall damage and one-shot potential is sub-par compared to others. Is he weak? Not at all, others are seriously overpowered.

The problem is that people have a messed up concept on damage and they have the tendency to compare e.g Ryze to Lux . The former wasn't supposed to 100 to 0 and deal so much damage without AP, the latter was meant to do it, because that's her role. The former is a battle mage, the latter is an artillery. Battle mages are the juggernauts of the mages, so they shouldn't be able to dish out that much damage as a burst mage or artillery.

I don't know how they can untangle the knot they've gotten themselves into besides just halting releases and reworks to re-evaluate why the community is so unhappy with their releases.

The vast majority of recent champion releases need to have their kits edited and reworked. Same with the champion reworks themselves.

They keep removing weaknesses from champion archetypes, (i.e. assassins shouldn't be able to sustain themselves in fights like Akali, enchanters shouldn't be safe like Yuumi, etc.) Then they go and give champions nearly everything like with Aphelios and Senna to the point where their weaknesses aren't noticeable because they're compensated heavily in so many other areas.

Designing champions that have little to no counter-play has turned this game into a nightmare and each season the meta gets slimmer because there's way too many new releases/reworks to ban and Riot keeps putting out more under the same flawed design philosophy.

“This perfectly balanced champ isn't pick or ban so we are going to buff them for no reason.” - Riot games.

Here before Riot's apologists come and say that damage was here all along but tanks are weak and need buffs.

Once people realize that riot doesn't see the "burst meta" or power creep as a problem you'll understand why we are here and why riot will NEVER change the amount of damage that's in the game.

Tencent's owns league, burst damage keeps a majority of their player base playing. They have no reason to change. act like riot are just clueless and don't know how to bring the damage down. No. They know exactly what they're doing and they want it this way.

we all see how they buff champions who get skins.....thats how the balance works sadly

Hazare1/28/2020, 12:59:13 AM4 votes

Main issue right now is how they LOVE, absolutely LOVE having champions that are completely busted and are absolutely overloaded, to the point where you now have champions that do annie-post-6 levels damage at twice her range and are safer.

Then you also have the stupid juggernauts like Morde who buy 1-2 AP item and can nuke you within seconds because they hit harder with 1 spell than you do with half your kit, even when you have 2-3 times their AP.

(Seriously though, a Morde with no Armor managed to tank my 4 shots of Jhin + Inferno Dragon buff with full build. Like, wtf at that point man.)

Gath Immortal1/27/2020, 7:21:34 PM2 votes

I keep saying it, just drop damage in the game across the board by like 20% and go from there.

LordGeovanni1/27/2020, 7:59:32 PM2 votes

Lol But how else do we Power Creep Mages and Adcs? when not everyone of them is in the top 3 of there class

Kharisma1/28/2020, 12:47:19 AM2 votes

Nerf Ekko and idc about anything else. Champion has like a 52+ percent winrate in every skill group.

FilDaFunk1/27/2020, 1:41:42 PM2 votes

While I don't read the patch notes anymore, whenever I see the summary videos, it always intrigues me that the buff list is always longer than the nerf list.

xelaker1/27/2020, 4:11:11 PM2 votes

Nerfs can't sell skins...

2gudaiya1/27/2020, 12:01:09 PM2 votes

no thanks, we already tried nerfing everything and then we got abortion tier season 7. stop suggesting endless nerfs, you aren't suggesting anything new that didn't already lead to the most metalocked season of all time.

Redeyes321111/28/2020, 1:58:07 AM2 votes

I can't agree with that. Bringing damage down usually allows for tanks to thrive. Tanks mean scaling; this extends game times, leads to less dynamic moments, usually makes the snowball less effective, and overall makes the game less enjoyable.

You have to consider items too; sometimes the champion is less the problem and more the balance of the item. A good example is Quinn during early Season 8 - she got nerfs when it was AD Itemization being strong that made her overpowered - when the AD items got pulled in line the power was never restored to her kit so she feel off the face of the earth and remains in that state to this day.

When everything is weak in League you see your stat-stick champions (think Mundo) become meta and they crowd out all other choices. To be blunt: without power in the roster it's hard to create dynamic moments, I think.

spookdegrace1/28/2020, 7:12:33 AM2 votes

League is actually extremely balanced from a pure numbers standpoint. I don't understand why everyone complains about 'damage'. If you're a damage carry (and building damage) you SHOULD get one shot if someone hits all their abilities on you and/or you're behind them in levels/items. How hard is that to understand? Tanks are tanker than ever, what with aftershock/grasp/conquorer. Yeah one or two buffs a patch are centered around skin releases but do note that last two patches had like one buff centered around a skin release.

Remember how in the early seasons people complained and cried over how Morello just keeps nerfing everything and we're just playing with fun-sized foam swords instead of actual fun swords? Good times.

Bulshlaka1/27/2020, 1:18:14 PM1 votes

if i browse for threads on this topic in the last 7~ years they would be advocating for the exact opposite where people wanted more champions to be viable so that they can 1 trick them comfortably instead of having a set in stone meta

im very for nerfing shit like renekton and reksai but the people playing those champions would be very against that decision

Clockwork Mouse2/8/2020, 9:02:37 PM1 votes

They need to nerf everyone at this point.
