Poppy W and Kindred???

Why does Poppy's W block Kindred's Q? It's not a dash but a hop.

If Poppy's W blocks hops too then the discription needs to be changed and have it block all hops and dashes.

A Hop is not a technical design term. The game does not code kindred's Q as a "hop" But as a dash. And then they make the animation a Hop. That is the same for jumps. A jump is a dash with 1 different property, it can go over things, and most dashes can do that anyway. In fact, I can't think of a dash that can't jump over something. (Poppy's W blocks so very much, it's better to look up and memorize all of it's interactions.) It's like Yasuo's ult, it doesn't have to be a knock-up per-say. However, if the game's code or programming says so, then it shall be so.

....your thinking of the term "dash" too literally its not the standard real life definition, its the league of legends terminology that states that a dash is a type of ability that moves the caster to a specified destination whether it be to the max range of the ability or to a predetermined unit (blinks are a kind of instantaneous dash and are excluded from poppys wall) another note, even though some dashes may utilized movement in the air and appear visually to be jumps they are for all intents and purposes on the ground

poppy is literally the definition of body guard and peel master i.e fed jax wants to kill adc? nope lee sin coming in for the level 2 cheese gank? nope rengar's in the game? nope

I believe these are the only champions with mobility skills that can be used inside poppy's W: Ezreal Kassadin Katarina Talon (Possibly Warwick ult) (I think Zed ) this is not including champions who are CC immune on their skills to. I believe these are the champions, though some could be wrong.
