I don't think I have ever seen this item get touched unless it's in a Trick2g video/clip and even then it feels rare given how pointless the item is in his games.
Maybe turn it into a Tower >>DEFENSE<< item instead of just another one that makes them even more useless?

, to tower dive enemies. If I recall correctly, he said he wasn't happy that it was a noob trap item that seemed designed for supports. Part of the problem though is that it's always been generally underpowered, and it will be a noob trap as long as it doesn't offer reasonably gold efficient and slot efficient stats with it having such a niche effect.
I found Ohmwrecker's profile (if he's on EUW) and it looks like he doesn't even build the item created for him. Looks like he plays 
, so designing an AP armor item to help these kind of champions survive tower diving seems reasonable. Lots of people want another AP armor item.

I often get a 
which already has Point Runner, but I'd swap that for if the situation called for it. Hmm... Maybe I should actually try that with the current Ohmwrecker since it might actually be alright considering that I bring Ingenious Hunter. That would bring Ohmwrecker to a potential 72 second cooldown which might be what it needs to work.
Khristophoros1 votesI would build it on literally every AP, every game. Point Runner is insane, but it's currently limited to purely defensive items, which are tough to justify on most champs (well at least the ones I play lol)
Hemulen Magi1 votesSomething to think about though is that if you would take an item with only 40 AP just for the sake of Point Runner, then you should consider taking a full tank item for Point Runner and combine it with a high AP item to make up for the overall AP difference from building a tank item.
These two sets are pretty equivalent.
+ = 5,900g = 115 AP, 60 MR, 75 Armor, +10% CDR
+

= 5,900g = 120 AP, 55 MR, 70 Armor, +10% MS
So between these two combinations, there's only a 5 AP, 5 MR, 5 Armor difference, so it's mainly just a choice of which active/passives you want and +10% CDR vs +10% MS. In either case, you could also hold onto the component until full build if Point Runner is the part you value most and don't care about the Ohmwrecker or Zz'rot actives. The cloth armor in set 2 can go towards a Zhonyas or Ninja Tabis but in reality you could exchange it for 300g spent on anything else and I just listed a cloth armor to make the final stats of the sets more similar since set 2 is 300g cheaper otherwise.
