Ping increase? Almost 50+ms?

So I just noticed this yesterday, but other forum users report it starting two or three days ago even. My ping which is usually around 45ms, has all of a sudden shot up to 100ms. It will stay consistently around 95-100ms all game, and I have no idea what caused this.

My internet is fine; other online games run like normal with no ping problems, videos and Netflix run fine, and webpages load like normal.

Due to other posts here on the forums, I'm taking a guess that there are some server problems? Possibly due to the Clash Beta this weekend?

Any clarification from Riot would be great, because it is unplayable for me right now with such high ping!

Does anyone else have this issue of higher ping?

Riot is going as far as to ignoring players asking about this and even saying things like "we see no widespread ping issues" <--- (from their support twitter) which is blatantly a lie as so many people are suffering from this, they just cant implement clash properly for some reason and wont even give us players a heads up. Yes a lot of people are experiencing high ping increases, mostly in the 50+ range personally I had a 55 increase which is sad as it has -quite literally- affected my games.

Are you able to link their Twitter? I would love to see what they are saying about this issue.

But I agree, alot of forum and reddit users are posting complaints about large ping increases. I also have a 50+ ping increase, so I feel your pain, as it has affected all of my recent games as well.

Have you tried contacting your ISP about this?

If the ping increase is not affecting everyone (I haven't noticed anything on a different server, so it's likely not due to something coding related), then it could be a routing issue.

It could also be a faulty server on their part, but it's worth at least looking into the ISP side of the situation.

Riot Support got back to me and informed me that alot of people all over NA are also reporting this problem, and they are gathering that its mostly people with mobile ISP providers like Verizon and AT&T. He said that it's something wrong with there servers interacting with these ISP's.

No they aren't.

Riot Support posted on Twitter that they are aware of ping increases on NA ISP's.

This happened to us UK residents not long ago where our pings were doubled.

The underwater fibre optic cables that connected the UK to Amsterdam (Where EUW is hosted) were damaged.

They fixed it and our pings returned to normal.

That's what I'm seeing, hopefully Riot notices and figures out whatever the problem is.
