Allowing gangplanks Q to proc with stormrazor will bring back crit plank which takes way more skill then going tri force and steraks. Now gangplank players will be forced to play less carelessly since we'll be going squishy once again which is more healthy direction to take then the upcoming direction these changes will provide.

You realize that this wouldn't stop GP from building Tri+Sterak's, right? He'd just build Stormrazor alongside Tri+Sterak's and chunk people even harder.
It wouldn't even be Critplank in the normal sense, since Stormrazor would be the only "crit" item he'd need.

I don't think there's much to critplank as its hit or miss with how powerful you are with your barrels, I prefer tankier gp with grasp getting of his damage from spellweaving and his passive, and not some cheesy barrel combo that can crit and still deal a quarter of a tanks hp.
