Requirements for Champion Mastery 8+?

I've greatly enjoyed getting my favorite champions to CM7 so far. Although it's been a fun ride so far, it has also been a pretty short ride. At the time of this post, I've already gotten 3 champions to level 7... and I'm one S away from getting my 4th.

This got me thinking of the next tier of Champion Mastery, and hopefully something that takes more effort to get! I hope Riot can do something more for Champion Mastery 8, 9, and 10! I want it to be a more enjoyable challenge, so this is what I want:

Champion Mastery 8 5 S+ Ranked Games

Champion Mastery 9 8 S+ Ranked Games

Champion Mastery 10 10 S+ Ranked Games

I think it would be better if the S+ must be gotten in ranked because... I get S almost every other game in normal queue. Most people give up and just feed you, especially with the new matchmaking which puts Diamonds with Bronze and Silver players. So how about making it only ranked so it's more of a challenge. People generally try harder in ranked vs normal, and you get matched with people your skill.

So what do you guys want to see for the requirements for Champion Mastery 8, 9, and 10? Post your thoughts here!

i want it to actually reflect my mastery on the champion i get it on.

You're crazy. It would be better if we needed to complete tasks like having a total of 400 kills (adc) or 400 assists (supp) or 50 drakes (jungler) or 500k damage taken (tank), for example, plus other kind of things.

I really like the ranked component. The S rank will probably get grindy as 5 in a row. What if, instead, it worked on a new totally hidden grading system, based on a "team contribution" percentage, where you can only get a token if you "contribute" the most to the victory. I think maybe people could also have a vote in the end game lobby, that would factor in with the contribution in some way, with less weight that the internal system but still some weight. There would also be stipulation that premades couldn't vote for each other, but anyone could still vote for themselves. That way, even in a premade 5 no one could farm it by all voting for one dude.

With this method, the token couldn't be awarded until after all 10 leave the lobby, but that's a small price to pay.

I think it would be great if they would combine things .. like the mastery lvl 5 that you can get mastery lvl 8 9 and 10 when you have reached a certain lvl of masterypoints so you actually need to invest time to get it ... task would be great but i think it would hurt the game ... like if a adc has the task of making a quadra kill or something it would lead to way more people rage when they miss it or its a close call to getting it ... would be cool if its like ... in the lobby you can give one enemy champion a point if you think he carried the game or if you think he played well and if you reached a certain amount of points you can get the the next mastery but theres the problem that most likely people wont vote for enemys ( Just like the honoring system is pretty useless now ) or they will give all their points to the guy who was fed as hell even tho he just got fed because the supp or tank did great engages so he could kill :/ and i one way or the other people will allways cry out .. like ... Why do i need to get so much masterypoints im so good at the champ even tho i just started playing him or other stuff ...

I would not like it to be in ranked games. Not only influences you to get a determinated champion in every team composition when it should change every game, it also quits non-ranked people from the system. Funny words from an OTP but its my opinion.

Maybe have level 8 be 3 S+'s Level 9 be 3 S+'s in ranked and level 10 be 3 S+'s in a row with that champion

IMHO, what's important is that you can't just grind to get to higher levels from the previous level, spending more time but not improving your skills.

Going from 5 to 6 -> you need to get at least S-. But if you only get S-, you won't get level 7, where you need at least S.

So I agree with your level 8, which requires only S+. But your level 9 and 10 are useless. If you managed to get S+ for level 8, you'll get S+ all the same for levels 9 and 10.

A possibility would be: level 8 -> only S+ in any mode that currently gives Mastery tokens (not only Ranked); level 9 -> only S+, only in Ranked. No good idea beyond that...


So I read the rest of the thread, and one guy suggested the same thing as me, but added 3 S+ in a row for Level 10. I think this is a bit harsh, because it doesn't depend only on you. It's very hard to get an S+ if your team is losing badly.
