I got chat restricted for 6 games which means I can't do hextech crafting...ever.
First let me say that I deserved the chat restriction. I had a bad game, my draven afkd I wanted a scapegoat so I flamed our yas who went 2/17 against a syndra. Shouldn't have yelled at him or called him bad. So I get a 6 game chat restriction, I'm thinking okay. my bad, won't happen again. I finish the restriction, and now I'm ineligible for hextech crafting? If what I did was worth a 6 game chat restriction then so be it, that is the punishment. Why is the punishment then essentially doubled? Because that's what it feels like.
I could understand the reasoning if my account was banned for 3 weeks because I was being a toxic rager and I came back and was ineligible for crafting rewards, that seems like something I would deserve. But unable to use the crafting system because I had a couple of bad games and flamed some people? Seems a little harsh.
If the harshness is intended and that's how Riot wants it, then at the very least I should be told how many games I have to complete with "good behavior" before I'm eligible again because right now I have no idea and that just makes it seem hopeless and unfair. That sense of unfairness just makes me resent the system and not want to reform because what's the point?
Now I know theoretically, eventually I'll get crafting privileges back, but I have friends who have had it for months on end with no end in sight. I'm genuinely curious how Riot thinks this makes anyone want to reform or become a better player.
