@RitoPls Singed Rework is Definitely Needed.
(I originally posted this on PBE thread but that was a bad idea) I believe that I have read that
Singed isn't getting a reworked because he has a distinct identity and blah blah blah. I hope that Rioter who wrote this was drunk or just kidding. I just played against Singed and he is awful. He is the most terribly made champion in the game, most likely. Don't get me wrong, he has an identity but that identity is, other than the don't chase Singed, mostly that he is a troll champion. And don't tell me he isn't. When this guy is picked in your game, was there EVER a time when you said: Wo, we got Singed in our team! Can't remember it? Though, were you ever okay with having one of these champions in your team (picked randomly)?
If answer to one of those is No, then I'm guessing that's a champ that's planned to have a rework. Oh, and, if you need more... uhm... solid(?) proof, let's look at his spells. I'll be looking at a proffesional Singed guide, just to prove how bs this guy is.
#KEEP IN MIND, I MAY BE COMPLETELY WRONG!
- Singed's passive which gives 25% of your mana into HP Despite this, you should not fully invest yourself into building mana items Mana is a stat that doesn't directly help you in a team fight. Whether you have 1k mana at the start of a fight or 4k mana will not directly impact your ability to kill someone or survive. This passive adds some survivability, but not that much.
Basically, his passive is mostly useless and scales off of a stat that he doesn't need. Then we have his Q.
- Singed's signature ability and primary source of damage Get this at level 1, and max it first It is deceptively powerful, has a 90% TOTAL AP scaling. Each poison tick has 30% scaling, an d enemies are GUARANTEED to receive 3 poison ticks upon exposure. The longer they stay exposed, the more poison ticks.
The spell really doesn't deal that much damage if you, well, know how to play against him. This is why he is a special snowflake, but this is also why he is so problematic. You won't know how to use him or this spell until you get to high elo, and, in high elo, no matter how good you play him, he is still gonna be weak. I ain't a proffesional master player but I know a few things too. Now to his W.
- Don't get this until level 8, you won't need it until then and it's extremely mana hungry to use so early. Use this to help catch up to enemies or run away from enemies. This can now be used to snare someone if you use Fling to throw someone onto it. A full 1 second of hard cc is a big deal because you can use it to trap someone under your tower in lane phase or guarantee a kill for your team. In team fights, place this between your ADC and the enemy front line to make it harder for them to catch your carry and makes it easier for your carry to kite.
So this is basically a useless ability. This is also a spell that you won't know how to use if you aren't really good. And now to his E.
- The only time you would ever level this skill at level 1 is if your team is fully committed to invading the enemy jungle for a kill. Your primary fight-starting and peeling ability. Use this after the enemy front line uses their gap closers to get to your ADC, then fling them away from your ADC and so they will be helpless and useless. Can be used to cancel channeling ( Death Lotus, Stand United, Teleport, etc). Is a form of Hard CC, use it wisely because it has long cooldown (10 seconds). Use this to initiate a trade. Attack-move the ground immediately after flinging an enemy to land a mid-air auto-attack on them. I personally like to hotkey attack-move to my Mouse3 Button (press the mouse wheel). Can be used to flip an enemy over a wall, if positioned properly.
This is imo one of his best spells. It can be used to interrupt, fling over walls etc. etc. The spell itself needs some change but I think it mostly works as it should. Oh, and the ultimate.
- Turn this on when a fight starts. Turn this on when your opponent goes HAM on you. Turn this on when you want to go HAM on your opponent. Turn this on if you need to catch someone. Turn this on if you need to run away faster.
That God-damned spell... it's so boring.. I really don't know if it's that bad or not but it is goddamned boring.
You could say that he can be strong in right hands, but, guess what, you can say that about any champion. And, he may be okay, I am overreacting probably, but, he definitely isn't balanced. He really needs a rework. I may be wrong though. If I am, beat me to death with a stick made out of Swain's fur.
I'll add a few things that I didn't say on the PBE boards. The guy never really fits the meta. You will never see him on a top 5 list unless he gets overbuffed. You won't see him on LCS. I just want to pick a champion and play him basically as I'd play most of the champions. I kinda believe that he may be the worstly made champion, and, even though this is just me, I'd rather have
Yorick in my team than Singed.
that's just me though.
and
. The combo of those two items makes Singed do some of the highest damage in the game. I have out damaged several fed ADCs this way. Plus he is EXTREMELY fun once you get him down. You can mock the enemy team relentlessly. I have had more teams surrender to Singed than any other champ (including Teemo!)
is a great first item on him, you get mana and some health with it.
Nautilus, who has a good play rate in every elo. Singed is comparable to champions that have higher win rates in higher elos, but, his play rate is very low, which kind of shows that not many people play this guy, and, those who do are probably very skilled with him. Compare that to
Kalista, who has a lower global win rate mostly because of her poor win rate in lower elo, but, as we go to higher elo, her win rate gets higher too. The difference is that Kal actually has a solid play rate too, and is a go-to champion to more people than there are Singed mains, all three of them.
